Let's face it, Rock Band is pretty expensive in the first place. There are tons of addons to blow your money on, whether new drumsticks or guitar straps. Most of them add little to nothing to the experience. Pedal Metal is definitely an exception to this rule.

I purchased Pedal Metal before having any problems with my pedal unit. After having played Rock Band at a friend's who had installed Pedal Metal out of necessity, I couldn't go back to the plastic pedal. The easy-to-install metal cover adds substance to the pedal, making it feel less like a toy and leaving me worry-free as to whether the pedal will eventually snap (I can be a little brutal).

To be honest, I think any Pedal Metal unit will do. I gave in and bought this unit which was an additional few bucks for a better hinge and a cover for the lower portion of the pedal. I don't think the addition made it substantially better.

Overall, an excellent purchase and something every Rock Band owner should invest in. This coming from a guy who saves every dollar to buy more addon songs!

Of course, my son broke the pedal AGAIN! We already got the side reinforcements from Pedal Metal and were well satisfied, because the cracks in the sides were fixed. The pedal itself broke in half and I was able to fix it for a while with epoxy, but this product seems like it will be a permanent fix. This package includes the flat pedal, a small piece that goes on the base, and a clear plastic hinge. The screws look like they need holes pre-drilled, but they don't -- they are self-tapping, so all you need is a phillips screwdriver and a center punch or line-up tool and a hammer to get the hinge pin out. The directions were clear, in color and complete, be sure and read them first!

This product is exactly as described and has improved the playing experience of the Rock Band Drums a great deal. Just like others have commented, it does give make the kick pedal feel more like that of a real drum kick pedal. It was easy to install and looks very nice on the Rock Band drum kit.

This is a great product, i got it within a week (Pullman WA) and i would definitely recommend reading the instructions. I was very excited to put it on my pedal and start playing mercilessly so i found a drill, took my flimsy plate off of my RB2 pedal and drilled it on, and drilled the base of the pedal too (whatever it's called) not sure what damage it is going to help prevent, but it does look pretty cool. i fond the plastic hinge, looked it at.. didn't think it mattered since it wasn't metal like everything else, so i put it aside, later found the directions.. found out then that i was supposed to use it, but it still works great! and i am very happy to state that i can now play Panic Attack, and Painkiller, without being paranoid about snapping my pedal in half. :)

After breaking two pedals and the third pedal about to break I had no choice but to purchase this. Easy to screw in and play on. No worries now. Only negative is that brings up the noise level considerably, and then your neighbors come complaining...

I'm a huge fan of rock band and a real drummer. I've been playing since the age of 8 and am a hard hitting drummer.. I have broken everything from pedals to the drums themselved to even real cymbals.. When I purchased the drum kit I knew it wouldn't last the punishment.. Sure enough within a few days the pedal broke.. I immediatly made a quick fix out of a spare high hat stand and ended up breaking it within the week.. then proceeded to make a second.. this one died even sooner.. the next step was my bass drum pedal, and I could feel it quivering with fear when I created a frankenstien of a drum pedal.. lasted for about two weeks or so and then wound up like the others.. with no hope left I discovered this product.. Now if you are like me and have a workshop laying around you can make one of these.. but I went the quick approach and saved some time by just ordering it.. I have been using it for a month now and have not had any problems what so ever.. I recommend to anyone.. those who just bought the game and haven't hooked it up yet as well as those who have and might not have even broken it.. the instructions for those who need them are straight forward.. cant get and simpler really.. and in reality the assembly is common sense.. the only thing I was skeptical on was the plastic hinge that it uses.. but all-in-all it made it just that much more comfortable. Thanks for the fix.. My wife and I were getting withdrawals from not being able to play!!

I broke my Rock Band bass pedal twice before I finally got one of these, and now it works wonderfully. It feels much more durable, and I don't feel like I'm going to crush it again.

I noticed a crack along my rockband pedal, and after a bad job of duct taping and using other supports, I knew I needed to get something else. This is what you need! It's easy to install, and you can try all you want to break it, but it won't work. The only problem is I tried a bit too hard and now need a new plastic hinge, which works great, and I'm having problems getting one. All in all this is the last replacement you'll need!

This is an excellent product. It completely fixed the the broken pedal, and resulted in a pedal that is much sturdier than the original. Also, the feel of this heavier pedal is better and more similar to a real kick drum pedal. The instructions for assembly were easy to follow and complete. If you have not patented this yet, you should. Harmonix would do well to buy the patent from you and make their pedals this way from the start.

I have a bit of a heavy foot and cracked my Rockband pedal. This was easy to install and brought my old pedal back to life and on steroids. The pedal takes a beating now and is better than new. It is an all metal construction and screws onto the plastic of the pedal. This product is a must have for any one that wants to repair their old rock band pedal.
