5.0 out of 5 stars great fun!
not sure i understand the beef with the two naysayers before me, but this is a great addition for a good price for 20 more songs. about 10 of them, i love and i'm learning the other ones.

it's a great deal of fun and it's a "standalone" version of the product. you only need the "instruments" to play this, not the original game.

i really love...

3.0 out of 5 stars not bad
A nice addition of songs for the game, although I would have preferred at least another 10 songs to make it really worth while. You can go through the 20 really fast.

i really love some of the songs on here, including Weezer's Buddy Holly, Smashing Pumpkins Siva, and the old classic More Than a Feeling by Boston. :) Gotta love that big hair and HUGE sound.

i'm having so much fun with this new set of songs that i'm tackling "Hard" mode. the more difficult you go, the closer it gets to the actual part (for drums at least, not a big "video game guitar" fan because it's not really like playing a guitar. :) the drums and vocals, however are great fun in rock band....

fully recommend. just decide if you like the songs and it's a worthy addition to the rock band collection.

and, hopefully, the next version of rock band will allow online downloads. hope so. however, if they keep releasing track packs, i'm all over that!!! :D

5.0 out of 5 stars No need to unlock songs, great for jamming, January 24, 2009

Full list of songs is available the minute you insert the game, no need to unlock. Of course, that means there is no 'tour', no hiring staff, etc...but when you have friends over and just want to jam, this is for you. i have rock band 2 hardware and works great with this game.

I own rock band 2 for the wii, and bought this at teh same time I bought it. I was under the remote impression that you could import songs from RB1 to RB2, but not on the wii... thanks Activision... way to ruin this game for wii players...

DO NOT BUY UNLESS YOU OWN A ROCKBAND INSTRUMENT!!!! Guitar Hero instruments do not work with this game....

Believe what the others are saying. The songs sound bad and there are a lot of really terrible songs on the playlist. But the 3 songs that are on it are pretty good. But now that RB2 is out, I'd get that instead if you need new Wii songs. Now if they'd only let us download...

4.0 out of 5 stars It'll do until Rock Band 2 comes out, September 23, 2008

If you have played all the songs on Rock Band on the Wii this will hopefully hold you over until RB 2 comes out.

The songs are ok, not as awesome as the first Rock Band, it seems like a lot of leftovers from the original Rock Band, as bands represented on that disk make it here with some of their lesser known songs.

The songs on this are definitely harder than Rock Band and I found myself getting stuck on songs that are considered "First Stage". I had a total blast playing through such songs as "All the Small Things", "The Kill", and "Teenage Lobotomy".

All in all I would recommend this to those who have played through the original Rock Band and are waiting until the sequel comes out.

Hopefully that version will offer downloadable content as I can see that Harmonix offers a ton of great songs online that I would love love love to play on Rock Band if only I could.

C'mon Harmonix! Don't let Wii owners down!

1.0 out of 5 stars Did NOT work for us w/Rock Band 2, December 30, 2009
= Fun:1.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Rock Band Track Pack: Vol. 1 (Video Game)
The only thing I can suggest is, do NOT buy this if you own Rock Band 2. I think it only works with Rock Band 1 ... or else it just simply did not like our system set-up or something. We just recently bought Rock Band 2, and we were not realizing that the way you're supposed to add new songs with Rock Band 2 is to purchase them online through the game interface. When we got this track pack and tried to use it, the sound was AWFUL and it didn't work right ... as in, when we would hit the notes, it would only recognize like half of them. We tried to calibrate it with our system but it still didn't work. We could not figure out what the problem was, because we are having no issues at all with the Rock Band 2 game or with Beatles Rock Band.

So the only thing we could figure is either a) this track pack is meant for Rock Band 1 only, or b) it didn't like our system setup for some unknown reason (even though RB2 and Beatles RB work just fine). So DON'T buy this, just purchase the songs online through the game interface instead. Which I know you can do with RB2 ... not sure about RB1.

2.0 out of 5 stars No value for the price, September 16, 2008
= Fun:3.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Rock Band Track Pack: Vol. 1 (Video Game)
Since we love Rock Band, we were really excited to add some songs. We finished the whole track pack, however, in one afternoon. And that included a break for pizza! For almost as much as the original game, this is definitely not worth the price we paid. My friends considered returning it to WalMart (not sure you can return opened package).

The main complaint we have with Rock Band is that a lot of us "kids" don't know the songs. The Track Pack was even worse. I love "Interstate Love Song", and "More Than a Feeling", and my friends are crazy about "All The Small Things", but otherwise, more obscure songs, even when we know the artist (Police, Smashing Pumpkins). So, three useful songs, which will get old replaying them.

5.0 out of 5 stars rockband track pack vol.1, December 29, 2008
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Rock Band Track Pack: Vol. 1 (Video Game)
This disc has 20 or so songs on it that are not on any of the other disc . With the Wii the only thing is, is that you have to change the disc each time you want to play the different songs. I havent tried it after playing rockband 2 yet so I dont know if it saves them on there or not. I know that after playing rockband special edition you have to change the disc for track pack 1 and 2 when you want to play them. Good songs though.
