Putting Guitar Hero on the DS is one thing, but putting Rock Band on the PSP seemed something else entirely. I mean really, how could Harmonix manage to give a truly full-fledged experience like the home console Rock Band on the PSP?, especially without any sort of additional prepheral? Well, somehow, they managed to do just that. Rock Band Unplugged manages to convey the look and feel of the console rhythm smash to Sony's handheld, and does so with spectacular results. Taking control of every instrument for each track, the game ends up giving a more comfortable feel than usual for the PSP's controls, as it uses the triangle and circle buttons along with the left and up commands on the D-pad. Added to the great feel of the controls is the fact that the game itself is easy for anyone to pick up and play. Even if you've never played Guitar Hero, Rock Band, or any other rhythm game before in your life, you will not have any trouble at all getting into Rock Band Unplugged. The game's set list is also wonderfully picked and diverse enough, and the 41 total tracks feature material from AFI, The Killers, System of a Down, Soundgarden, Judas Priest, The Who, Jethro Tull, Alice in Chains, Nirvana, Social Distortion, Foo Fighters, Billy Idol, Boston, Motorhead, Pearl Jam, and many more. There's even extra downloadable tracks as well that are readily available and definitely worth purchasing, considering how much you'll find yourself addicted to the game. If there's any downsides to the game, it's that there's no multiplayer options available, but regardless of that, the game remains a blast to play. All in all, Rock Band Unplugged is a surprisingly great take on the home console's smash formula on the PSP, and for owners of Sony's portable system that dig rhythm games, this game is definitely worth picking up wholeheartedly.

This game makes a fantastic addition to the Rock Band/Guitar Hero game series. If you've played any other version, then this game is a must own if you have a PSP.
This game carries over many features from the console versions and it even does a good job of mimicking the graphics. The song list itself is not huge, but they grabbed all of my favorite songs from the other versions of Rock Band/Guitar Hero and threw them into this game! You can also download songs from the Playstation store online, but they will cost extra. They will be coming out with regular updates to the songs list online, so make sure to check back often for your favorite tunes. The game play takes a little getting used to, but if you have any experience with the Rock Band/Guitar Hero games, then you'll pick it up rather quickly. The only difficulty you'll have is turning the game off! I started the game in medium and I'm already racking up five stars on most songs. Just like the other versions of this game, the songs get more difficult at the selected level of difficulty when you progress further into the game. This will help prepare you for that next level of difficulty. Down and dirty: Graphics = A Sounds = A Controls = A Difficulty = B (Much higher then the console versions) Game Length = B+ (I wish there were the same amount of songs included in the console versions, but the ability to download makes up for it somewhat.) Overall = A Recommendation: I would not recommend buying this game brand new if you've never played any of the previous versions of this game. The difficulty of this game is much higher then the game consoles and as such might discourage continued game play for beginners.

I cannot put this thing down... I just got this yesterday and I am enjoying it immensely. I have played the regular console Rock Band and Guitar Hero before. For some reason the PSP is even more enjoyable to me. I can sit on the couch with headsets on and enjoy the music I am attempting to perpetuate with the appropriate button commands. I like the fact that if you mess up on a phrase, while you are trying to recover it, the other instrument you were supposed to take over after the current phrase fades out until you get it back into the pool. It motivates me to get the song perfect! Great track - love most of the music. Some stuff I have not heard before but those are pretty catchy.
All and all I am looking forward to playing this at work during my breaks/lunch - brighten up my day! I am just worried what is going to happen to me when I hit medium and then hard. The challenge is still ahead!

This is a must have game for everyone who loves music games, i went to the playstation store to look at what was new and saw the rock band demo download. I downloaded and had so much fun with the three sample songs that i went out a bought the game off amazon cause i wanted the full version and it better then i thought. works for me during my break between classes at school to sit out in the students lounge and play rock band till my next class starts. With school and job travels my psp is my main source of gaming and having rock band to play while on the road or on the train is kewl. The game is so dead on like the rock band for my ps3 that when i am home i find my self playing the psp version more. Great tracks and so easy to play for any ages. This game is played between me my girlfriend and our kids so it something the whole family can play on there psp. If your not sure if this game for you go to the playstation store and download the demo and try it, trust me you'll get hooked. You can go there threw your psp via wireless internet or threw this link.

This is a very good and clever musical video game. There is no need to use props or accesories to play. The song selection is excellent and the playability is very good. Don't let this go away! Buy it now!

Okay. I have to admit I was a little sketchy on a rock band for psp. I mean how can you have fun without the guitar, drums, bass and mic, right? WRONG. This game is absolutely worth the money. If you're like me you have bought a deal of psp games and just wish you hadn't. But this is not one of those games. When I first ordered this game my brother told me I wasted my money on it. Anyway when it arrived I opened it read the instruction manual and popped it in my psp. Within the first five minutes I was soooo addicted to the game (with the exception of the instrument switch feature.) I played all day and all night and repeated the cycle until I am sitting where I am now typing a review on it. Trust me, If you want a game that you can sit on an airplane, ride in a car, sit at a boring moving and be entertained...this is that game. I'm going to give it a solid 4 out of 5 stars and the only reason is on campaign you cant just stick to your favorite instrument. You have to switch between instruments which is fun but can get really annoying. But for anyone who wants to have massive fun with one of the best psp games out...GET THIS...GET IT NOW.

LET ME JUST SAY THAT THIS IS PROBALLY ONE OF THE BEST GAMES I EVER PLAYED ON MY PSP AFTER GOW CHAINS OF OLYMPUS. EVER SINCE I PURCHASED THIS GAME ITS BEEN IN MY PSP SINCE THE FIRST TIME I PLAYED IT AND THAT WAS LIKE OVER A MONTH AGO. THE PART I LOVE THE BEST IS THE WARMUP MODE, YOU GET TO SWITH TO THE TRACK OF URE FAVORITE INSTRUMENT AND JUST PLAY WITHOUT HAVING TO SWITCH TRACKS LIKE THE QUICKPLAY MODE. I STARTED ON MEDIUM LEVEL AND NOW IM AT EXPERT BUT ONLY IN WARMUP MODE! MY INSTRUMENT OF CHOICE IS THE GUITAR. I FORGOT TO MENTION THAT THE SONG PAINKILLER IS PROBALLY THE HARDEST SONG IN THE GAME. WHEN I PLAY THIS IN WARMUP MODE I ONLY PASS IT ON EXPERT LIKE ONCE EVERY 3 OR 4 TRIES! GET THIS GAME, AND U WILL GET URE MONEYS WORTH. TRUST ME ON THIS ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!

This rock band game is definitely great, but this almost $20 price is not a good deal. I bought it from eBay at a rate $7.75(just one difference, mine comes with a small paper case, but why would I want a big plastic case? I got UMD bag). Just giving a suggestion, if you want to shop something with a deliver time gurantee, you should compare between Amazon and eBay so that you will always get a best deal. When I want something deliver quickly and with gurantee, I only shop from Amazon; when I don't need an item soon and they both available on eBay and Amazon, I always compare both and found a best value.

This game is truly amazing! Once you start playing it you'll never want to stop. With upbeat songs like "Move Along" by All-American Rejects, "Livin' on a Prayer" by Bon Jovi, and "Message in a Bottle" by The Police, this game will keep you hooked from day 1!
Most of the songs in this game are also in Rock Band II for PS2, with a few exceptions. In Rock Band Unplugged, you have to play all 4 instruments--bass, guitar, drums, and vocals--to keep the song up and running. If you don't, you fail and the song sounds just plain horrible. :P The controls are very easy to get used to and are very easy to apply during play time in the game. You are able to name, customize, and create your band. I thought that this was a great feature! This way you can change your outfit, hairstyle, attitude, and instruments whenever you like. Every different song, city, or level if you like. :) You also select a band logo and then name your band. I would most certainly recommend this game to anyone who likes Rock Band but can't afford to buy a $200 PS2 game. It's the perfect remedy for your Rock Band craving. ;) All that's left to do is, enjoy! :)
