Is there or will there ever be a difference in the rock band game/series for the 360 and PS3? Is there a benefit of owning one version over the other for someone who owns both systems? I am only talking about the game itself meaning downloadable content, controllers, will there ever be a package that includes wireless controllers vs. wired?
The PS3 pack comes with a wireless guitar; the 360's is wired. Other than that, both packages are identical. A 360 wireless guitar is scheduled to release in April. As far as I know, downloadable content is identical, with three new tracks released every week for about $2 each.
There are differences. 360 has wired, PS3 has wireless guitars. 360 does not have a wireless Les Paul available at the moment, however you CAN use the wireless 360 guitar from Guitar Hero III. You CANNOT use instruments from other GH games with the PS3.
You cannot swap controllers between PS3 and 360. The controllers between the PS3 and PS2 are interchangeable. However, the PS2 version is missing a lot of features that the 360 and PS3 have.
DLC info: - If using DLC on the original 360 that purchased it, the account does NOT need to be signed in to LIVE. - If using DLC on a different console than the one that originally purchased it, the ACCOUNT THAT PURCHASED IT MUST BE SIGNED IN TO LIVE for the DLC to be active.
PS3 DLC is a different beast. Sony allows up to 5 different "authorized" PS3s to download the same DLC, effectively allowing 5 different users to "share" their downloads with each other (some exceptions exist, like Warhawk).
