Creativity is the Key Word in this CD,
By Jericho Leon "Jericho" (California) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Rock Crown (Audio CD)
Compared to American Standard, this CD has a bit more depth, perhaps more gloom, but absolutely more creativity-- not that American Standard is not in itself a good CD. According to the Seven Mary Three site, Rock Crown is a personal favorite of the band, and by no doubt, it is highly creative. Every song has its own personal feel to it, although some songs may be too solemn, or too deep for the mainstream audience to fully appreciate, perhaps this is why Seven Mary Three isn't as acknowledged as they should be.As with solemnity, some songs are indeed very slow and filled with emotion that such slowness can accompany-- songs such as Oven and Lucky-- and this might not be accepted by listeners who prefer the more upbeat 7M3 songs reminiscent of hits like Cumbersome and Water's Edge from the previous album. Rock Crown is an album loaded with creativity and individuality. It definitely stands out from the other 7M3 albums.

Great, Grand, WONDERFUL,

7m3's BEST CD, you just can't beat it, 'American Standard' comes close, but 'Lucky', 'Oven', and 'Needle Can't Burn', are just a few of the best ones to name a few. They hard rock w/ the passion and feeling of their hard/grundge/original sound is amazing, almost no one can't love them after listing to the CD (or any of the 3). 5+ stars

Time is all the luck they need,
By Len Smith (Severna Park, Md.) - See all my reviews

This album is strong at beginning and end. Lucky, Times Like These, Houdini's Angel's and Oven prooved to be lyrically soulful and socially inciteful. Oven helpes me get through tough times, and Lucky is great to feel "grounded." Not quite as strong from cover-to-cover as American Standard, but nevertheless a moving album.

As Great As AMERICAN STANDARD!,
By Chris (chrisg@merlinsolutions.com) (Hagerstown, Maryland) - See all my reviews

I don't understand why 7M3 is not more popular, as they are an outstanding band. Unlike the reviewer from Ontario, Canada, the singer's gravelly voice moves me to my very soul! It's almost unheard of these days for ANY CD to have more than two or three good songs (if you're are lucky). Both American Standard and Rock Crown more than surpasses that number (I haven't heard Orange Ave). No doubt about it, the best song on this CD is HONEY OF GENERATION ! ! ! The minor chords in the song is pleasantly haunting. May 7M3 keep on rocking for a long, long, time. Thanks 7M3!

Gone away from the old, and got lucky,
By Justin Stone (Orlando, Fl) - See all my reviews

Their second album was a BIG evolvment from "American Standard". Jason Ross uses his voice and lyric writting abilites in a much more suiting manor. The song that got this album atention, and one of my favortie 7M3 songs, "Lucky" is the perfect choice for the start of the album. It is a preveiw of what you'll be hearing. Emotinal ramblings would be the best way to discribe this album. The lyrics are witty and very honest to human spirit and nature. My only complant about the album would be some of the songs seem incompleate. Like "Gone Away" for instance. The emotion in that song is incredable. But it ends just as it draws you in. The songs that do leave you with a compleated feel, such as "Lucky", "Oven", and "Times Like These", are nothing short of amazing. With thier talents for song writting only improving in their third release "Orange Ave.", I look forward to their next album due late this summer.

RockCrown would definately be one I would keep. This album is totally amazing. It blows my mind every time I listen to it. I felt like a little school girl hearing them play these songs live because I was totally blown away by the whole experience. 7m3 outdid themselves with this album.

Seven Mary Three is the best band ever. Their combination of slow songs and songs like Cumbersome really shows their diversity as a band. That is what most people look for today in music, a variety. It goes with their moods, happy, sad, and angry. The song Devil's Holy Joke has turned into my theme, along with Lucky. I hope that they continue to create great music like this for years to come.

Absolutely incredible.....,

I in no way enjoyed the empty screaming of cumbersome from their first album, but one day i heard "lucky" on the radio, got up outta my seat and went to buy the cd, i was incredibly impressed,"lucky" isn't even one of the best on this cd. "People like new" is beautiful, "Gone away" & "Times like these" are awesome. Followed by "I could be wrong" and "Oven" this cd is incredible, Its hard to find artists who have talent and write with passion. This cd is a prime example of passionate work. Worth Every Penny.
