I was listening to some CDs and this one stood out. I had never heard of The Hong Kong. They combine energy with girl pop and British influences. They remind me of Wire. This is a record that has been around for a while but now it's getting a proper release. This band is from New Orleans but has recently moved to Brooklyn. Oh yeah! Every song is a hit on this record. Catherine Culpepper is an alluring singer. This band seems so right for the times.

I came across The Hong Kong tonight and have been able to find quite a sample on-line but have been only able to find 1 CD. This is a shame. Above, it was said that they are a band for the times but they are also a band for 1979. They sound remarkably like Blondie. and I love Blondie.

i was hooked with the first song, and after that it got a little less interesting. Still, it is an album worth buying, its poptastic and brit sounding, a little like metric with a more narcissistic beat.
