This review is from: Rock on Love (Audio CD)
Packed with classic tracks like The Train Is Coming, and I'm Not For Sale, this CD features versions of Ken's earlier material, re-recorded in 1978 with Bunny Lee. In my opinion the earlier versions of songs like Artibella, You're No Good, Puppet On A String etc. are much stronger than the recordings on this disc. I found that in some cases the pace of the tunes were far too slow, but then again, that could be due to the fact that I prefer the original versions more. The versions of Memories By The Score, and Ain't that Loving You are both really enjoyable. All in all, but for the strength of Ken's amazing voice (and the excellence of albums like Mr. Rocksteady, Freedom Street and Black, Gold and Green) I'd give this CD a lower rating. Recommended for fans who want more of Mr. Smooth.
