I want to make this simple: This is another of those DVDs of the meanderings of self-important, nearly-clueless critics whose insight into their subject pales in comparison to that of nearly any really serious fan. The footage used is from Yessongs and some Steve Howe DVD I saw years ago; nothing new, nothing insightful and nothing the less-informed should take as gospel and spew forth. It would take very little research to ascertain that the album Close to the Edge was an important and significant piece of work; this DVD does nothing you couldn't do yourself if you cared to. Stop giving these people power and money; listen for yourself and draw your own conclusions, which could well be as valid or more so than this lot.

This is a big waste of time and money. Stay away from this awful product. These bozos (critics?!?) even go as far as to criticize the band and Alan White claiming that everything after Close to the Edge was downhill. Excuse me- what about Going for the One, Relayer ? I think I would rather smell and chew Rumplestiltskin's dirty socks than watch this. This is an absolute travesty of grand proportions. I can't believe Yes agreed to allow this one to be released. But then again there is that other awful Live at Philadelphia. Anything to make a buck.

I had to return the first one because it froze up on me in more than one place and the second one had problems too but I managed to plow thru it anyway. The one returned was tested on three different players so....
This is a poorly done on the cheap DVD and if you want to know about Yes or Close To The Edge get the official "Classic Artists: Yes" which is mind blowing in regards to interviews etc. An example of how crazy and stupid this DVD is, is when they are talking about the artwork on the inside cover they only show one half at a time instead on the entire painting????
Dont waste your time.

11/11/09 Edit to review.
This is a note for Yes fanatics who have to own everything. I suppose I would not have been as harsh on this if it did not freeze up like it did again when I watched part of it today. This company has ads on the inside of the DVD cover for other band albums and I wonder what the quality control is on those? It is interesting to hear these guys talk about CTTE but where is Yes management to make sure on the quality control? Maybe my next DVD player with progressive scan may be able to get past the flaws because you cant tell by looking at the disc that there are any glitches.

01/13/13 I have a Blu Ray player now and those freeze ups are not as bad and the player worked its way thru them without me having to do anything. My thoughts about this DVD seem to get less harsh as the years go by but if you are a music fan and a Yes fan and love this album it does make for interesting viewing. Ok I think I am finally done with this review.

This is the latest release from a scum bag company that releases DVDs as a "critical" review (this legally gives them to right to show a few seconds of footage from Yessongs and other sources, without payment or credit). Otherwise you'll watch blah-blah-blah from prog musicians you've never heard of, who are interviewed for free so that they at least get some publicity.

But know this: this company doesn't involve Yes or other featured bands in any way, the bands didn't give their consent, and they are not paid one dime.

Total rip-offs.
