This five CD box set features the entire RCA recorded history of the Blackwood Brothers from 1950-1959. The music has been remastered and is flawless, but the real treat is the booklet enclosed in the box set.

I have written a book detailing the recorded history of this legendary quartet, so I was looking for flaws. Fortunately, they are few and far between. The 80 page book features rare photographs of the group. It also includes a very accurate account of each recording session with details about the musicians, track numbers, and much other information.

This set is not for the casual fan, but any true collector of gospel music would find this to be a treasure of their collection.

Bear Family always delivers a quality product, and this 5-CD set is no exception. As far as the music and information contained herein, this collection is stellar.

I have always been a huge fan of the Blackwood Brothers!!!!!!!! This set is incredible!!! A must have for any fan of Southern Gospel music!!!!! All I can say is wow!!!!! The audio is very clean and well done!! The book is also a really nice additive to the audio!!!! BUY IT!!!!!!!!!

Sure, this product is more expensive...but as the old saying goes, "You get what you pay for." This project is so cool. Beside the five remastered CDs is a huge, outstanding book with song history, quartet history, color photos of concerts, etc. If you are a fan of the Blackwood Brothers Quartet of the 50s with personnel including James Blackwood, R.W. Blackwood, Cecil Blackwood, Bill Shaw, J.D. Sumner, Bill Lyles, Wally Varner, and Jackie Marshall you do NOT want to miss this one-of-a-kind project. The studio releases during the 50s including a live California concert featuring some of the best Blackwood songs. I've never seen any gospel music release so extensive and professional. All songs recorded by RCA Records. Don't miss this one, or YOU missed out!!!

I've been a fan of the Blackwood Brothers since childhood, plus as I grew older I played them on the radio in Port Huron, Michigan. This is a wonderful five box set of the songs that I remember most. The book is a real added plus to the CDs. My son surprised me on Father's Day with this gift that I will cherish for as long as I live.

This is a great set of 5 cd's and a very nicely made book of pictures and history of the Blackwood Brothers. Boxed in a really nice collector quality enclosure. The quality of the recordings is just perfect. I hope the producers will make more of the Blackwood Bros. and the Statesmen Qt. in this format.
