4.0 out of 5 stars Elvin's Unique(and superb) But Forgotten Album
Stephen Arnade Palm Bay,FL This is absolutely a Superb Album From The 1970's. The album ROCK MY SOUL is one those gems of music that never received the recognition when initially released. This is not your typical Elvin Bishop album, with focus on great rock-and-roll with a R&B influence. Released in 1972, this album seemed to have Elvin working well with Jo Baker...

3.0 out of 5 stars Underappreciated
The highlight of this album is without a doubt the interplay of Jo Baker and Elvin Bishop. Elvin's focus shifted from zeaulous guitar work to songwriting. In my opinion, that gives it a lot of strength, making it without a doubt Bishop's best album. Fans of Van Morrison's 70's work will enjoy this album as well.

This is not your typical Elvin Bishop album, with focus on great rock-and-roll with a R&B influence. Released in 1972, this album seemed to have Elvin working well with Jo Baker. They just sparked each other. Jo Baker great singing talent comes across on the song "Rock Bottom", where she sings lead. The song "Stomp" shows the great guitar playing talent of Elvin Bishop. The song "Don't Mind If I Do" showcases the song writing talent of Elvin.

5.0 out of 5 stars A heavy hitter lineup make this one to own, March 15, 2009
This review is from: Rock My Soul (Audio CD)
Of course Elvin Bishop rocks out and his 'Rock My Soul' can't be beat; but Jo Baker's 'Rock Bottom' by itself makes the album worth the price. Also, a string of heavy hitters are on this recording, including Steve Miller. The 1970s rocked and here's a taste of it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Rockin!, October 18, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

This is one of Elvin Bishop's best albums. We missed not having it in our music selection since we only had it on vinyl. The CD is very hard to find. The sound quality is not the greatest, but it's wonderful to be able to listen to this album again without having a turntable for the old LP.
