Great Series on Time-Life, August 19, 2004

Time-Life actually outdid RCA in some ways with this series, offering both great sound and packaging. In this case, 31 of his best rock'n'roll tracks from the 50's through the 70's, including one previously unreleased track. The 16-page booklet contains an excellent essay by Charles K. Wolfe, lots of seldom-viewed photos, several 45 & EP picture sleeves, and individual song information. The CDs themselves are picture discs and there is a CD tray card photo "signed" by Elvis. The cover photo is a great one of Elvis at the Mississippi-Alabama State Fair in 1956. It seems Time-Life has stopped producing the series, which is a shame (somebody call Ted Turner, or at least Rick and Bubba).
