3.0 out of 5 stars Looking Back From '69, November 21, 2008
This review is from: Rock N' Roll Is Here to Stay (Audio CD)
Formed in 1969 at Columbia University, the band became quickly known for its dynamite live sets, with the 1950s rock-n-roll from the likes of Gene Vincent and Eddie Cochran taking center stage.

At the Woodstock Festival, the group delivered a powerful, high-energy performance, but a dearth of original material ultimately had a severe negative impact on the band's career. But before the concept stagnated, this debut album was a neat revival of the roots of the pop culture revolution in rock music that was taking place.

Guitarist/singer David Bromberg - who performed with many top artists, including Bob Dylan, Chubby Checker and Ringo Starr - is one of the session musicians enlisted to give things some punch. The album is a credible salute to an era that seemed so long ago in 1969.
