I got mine autographed by P.J. Soles!,

This is the soundtrack to the cult movie where P.J. Soles plays the Ramones #1 fan. It features two great original songs by the Ramones, plus an 11 minute live performance by the Ramones. The Ramones also back up The Paley Brothers on a cover of Ritchie Valens classic "Come On Let's Go". (Incidentally, Andy Paley later became a well respected producer.) The only other song recorded especially for this album is a cute version of "Rock 'n' Roll High School" by P.J. Soles herself. The rest of the album consists of tracks licensed from other record companies. Most of them are very good, although I don't care much for the weird instrumental by Brian Eno. Several of the songs have a "school" theme, appropriately enough. I should mention that "School Days" by Chuck Berry is not the original version, it's a rerecording that sounds almost identical to the original (it's even in mono). In short, this is a terrific soundtrack. Highly recommended.

Rock n Roll HS,

This is a great CD and a great movie! I hadn't seen the movie in years and when I came across the sound track it brought back so many good memories. If you grew up in the early 80's and were into the "punk" scene this is the CD for you.

just about every song on rn r h.s. sndtrk is awesome. the high points for me are: the dream goes on forever, my favorite todd rundgren song. this is the tune that turned me on initially to the rest of todd's music. there is a smokin rendition of the ramones medley, "blitzreig bop/california sun"--also the title track is a classic. other standout tracks are "smokin in the boys room" by brownsville station. it is better than motley crue's popular remake from the eighties. also, teenage depression by eddie and the hot rods is a lost classic worth checking out. "come on let's go", a richie valen's cover done by seventies power pop duo the paley brother is another obscure gem on this album. alice cooper's school's out is also on there and a cool instrumental by brian eno. if you like the bands i have mentioned or just like late seventies power pop and punk-go get this now!
