Hearing all their stuff in the original is awesome...Great CD!

A couple songs from that album were apparently tacked onto "RnR Machine" when it went to CD, and the first album was taken out of print.

Triumph was a Canadian band that was pretty big in the late 70's early 80's and this is the cd that got them known the best.

This is Triumph's best album. As for the other two reviews, those missing songs are on "In The Beginning". A couple songs from that album were apparently tacked onto "RnR Machine" when it went to CD, and the first album was taken out of print. With "In The Beginning" back in print, there is no need for repetition, so buy both!

This is a great album, the 1st one I ever bought for myself, but it is missing 4 of the original songs. This version is the original Canadian release and is their 2nd album. The 1st Canadian album, In the Beginning, includes It Takes Time, 24 hours a day, Street Fighting Man and Blinding Light Show.
Get them both and burn the best songs onto a greatest hits cd.

I first heard this album when I was at 7 and after 16 years it never gets old. I had the international edition, which yes included the brilliant and masterful Blinding Light Show as the last song. The only problem was that they cut out the epic track "City", but they made up for it by another epic which should be in the top five of anyones favorite Triumph tracks, Street Fighter Man.

You cannot go wrong with any version of this album, because Bringing It On Home, Little Texas Shaker, 24 Hour A Day, New York City Streets 1 and 2 and the title track are all brilliant.

Now before all these Eddie Van Halen(who is a brilliant innovative guitarist) fans begin claiming how he invented the shredding style of guitar playing, be known that this album came out a year before VH1 did. Rik also shreds on an accoustic guitar in the song Blinding Light Show, that epic is better known as Moonchild. And there has NEVER been another shredding guitar solo that can master the brilliant 4 minute one in the title track. Rik proves with just that one song how much of an impact he would have for decades later.

If you don't have this, you have never witnessed pure perfection, it's worth every penny you spend.

Please note that this cd is the release of the european version of this cd. It contains an amazing song that my friends and I heard at that time which is "City". It is an absolutely fantastic song, and the people in Canada and US paid horrendous sums at that time to get a copy of that record.

I know that Moon Child and Blinding Light show are missing here, but hey: if you are looking for a rarity once you will be blown away by the guitar of "City"...

And you can still buy a copy of the original Canada/US version...

Hey Zombie,

The version your looking for was actually a combination of the first two Triumph albums. It was the American version of "Rock & Roll machine". On CD (and import albums from the late 70's) it was "Triumph" (retitled "In The Beginning") and "Rock & Roll Machine". Your song (Blinding Light Show/Moonchild) can be found on the CD "In The Beginning"

I became a fan in 1985 following the release of "Thunder Seven". I saw their last tour in 1986, my first concert. When I initally bought "RnRM", it was a tremedous disappointment. But seeing how far they came and understanding this was a group still feeling their way around, it is essential to have this in your collection. A great rock album. Even a little country ("Bringing it on home", "Rocky mountain way"). Rik's solo in the title track is a little dis-jointed.
