Editorial Reviews

LOVERBOY has sold more than 10 million albums including
the four-million-selling "Get Lucky", and a trio of doubleplatinum
releases in their self-titled 1980 debut, 1983 s
"Keep It Up" and 1985 s "Lovin Every Minute of It".
Their string of hits include, in addition to the timeless
anthem Working for the Weekend, such arena rock
staples as Lovin Every Minute of It , This Could Be the
Night , Hot Girls in Love , Heaven In Your Eyes and
more.
In 2005, LOVERBOY celebrated 25 years together by
performing shows all over the U.S. and Canada. They went
on to release a new album, Just Getting Started in 2007.
In March 2009, the group was inducted into the Canadian
Music Hall Of Fame in Vancouver, BC, joining Bryan Adams,
Leonard Cohen, Neil Young and David Foster among others.
LOVERBOY features all the original members and are now
back once again, having reunited with legendary producer
Bob Rock [Metallica, Aerosmith, Motley Crue, Bon Jovi], to
record 3 new songs: Heartbreaker , Rock 'N' Roll
Revival , and No Tomorrow , which have been added to
nine all new re-recordings of the band s most popular hits.

This cd is awsome ,there is three new tracks..rock N' roll revival..no tomorrow and heartbreaker. The other 9 songs are rerecorded classics that explain to you why LOVERBOY was one of the top selling acts of the eightys. They show us they can still write new songs that sound like they came from back in the day. Don't let the few bad review's stop you from buying this,Mike Reno's voice is awsome and the band is still phenomenal.Original lineup on this CD missing Scott Smith as he has pasted on....R.I.P..Scott..you were trully one of the best of the best. With that said the bass guitar on this CD is done by the one and only Ken 'Spider' Sinnaeve who filles in that empty spot like no other. This CD shows you why LOVERBOY WAS AND STILL IS AN AWSOME BAND !!!!!!!!!!!!

I was unsure about purchasing this CD at first. For three new songs and you have the others in all of their 'Best Of'. Hmmm? Well, great purchase it was. Turns out the old songs are kinda like new songs. If you are a true Loverboy fan and have really listened to their music and went to their concerts hard, you will hear a difference. They put a new spin on their old stuff to just enough let you know that something is different. Some of you may not like it but I found myself enjoying it because I can listen to it feeling like I am still hearing something new. Plus knowing that I am not going to get to hear that version on the radio for sure. (Huh,Radio. Another reason why the good ol' CD is alive and well).

I just saw Loverboy in concert open up for Pat Benatar and Journey & my only problem was that I wish that their set was a little longer. If you love Loverboy then you will love Rock N Roll Revival. If you don't own Just Getting Started from about 5 years ago as well, I would highly recommend that because that was the CD that let me know that these boys haven't lost it yet.

Great cd from the early 80's group! Mike Reno has not lost his vocal touch. The re-do's on the early hirs really rock.A+++

Canadian AOR mainstays Loverboy (yes, the Loverboy that worked for the weekend and briefly made red leather pants seem like a good idea) returned in 2012 with a new studio album...sort of. For their latest offering, the first since 2007's very underrated Just Getting Started, the band serves up just three brand new songs alongside nine re-recordings of previous Loverboy hits. Not quite what fans were hoping for, but new Loverboy tunes are always a good thing, and if done right even re-recordings can be fun.

Rock n' Roll Revival is the title of this collection, and given the recent surge in popularity of the `80s AOR bands (and some very successful tours alongside Journey and similar bands), it's a good name for a Loverboy collection. The album gets started with the new songs, all of which are produced by the legendary Bob Rock (Metallica, Bon Jovi, Aerosmith). It opens with the title track, an upbeat rockin' number that harkens back to Loverboy's signature early `80s style. The mellow quasi-ballad "No Tomorrow" comes next, followed by the up-tempo (and surprisingly sweet) "Heartbreaker," both of which fit the more relaxed and soulful vibe of Just Getting Started. These new songs are very strong, very catchy, and worth the price of admission.

Sadly, the rest of the album is where Rock n' Roll Revival stumbles. With their studio albums still in print and countless greatest hits packages on the market, was there really any need for another look at Loverboy's hits? It doesn't help that the band doesn't really sound all that motivated or excited to be playing these songs yet again. Working for the weekend?

Well Lets talk about Loverboy, I Was not a Huge Fan of These Guys growing up, But I always listen to songs like Working For The Weekend and Turn Me Loose. Rock n Roll Revival is yet another case where they Did a Fine Job of Re-recording Classic Material. These songs sound more heavier and Fuller than original Recordings, and the new tracks are pretty cool. Hey If you where a fan back in the Day, Then Don't wait, go ahead and pick this one up, Great Job Loverboy, Sounds really Good, Great Songs to Jam in Your Car Fun Fun Fun

Fabulous band that has stood the test of time. It is great to have some new material from Loverboy and a nice mix of live sounding 'old' songs that remind me of going to their concerts Always a pleasure.
