Released just two months after Gone, Gone, Gone, 1965’s Rock ’n Soul brought the Everlys’ close-harmony sound to bear on a collection of rock and R&B covers that not only revealed a lot about the duo’s roots, but also said something about what they were listening to at the time. Namely, the British Invasion; Don and Phil beefed up their sound on this record in appreciation of the style that was exploding all around them, while displaying unerring taste in their cover selections. One of their best, first time on CD!
