4.0 out of 5 stars Very Nice!!, July 2, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Rock 'n' Roll Invaders: AM Radio DJ's (DVD)
This is a well produced DVD and Very good looking as well. It Does a good Job at the history of some of the beginning DJ's However, I would have liked to have seen some more of the later (60's and 70's) DJ's included Like The "Real" Don Steele and Robert W. Morgan. However you won't go wrong by getting this DVD!

4.0 out of 5 stars For those who want to know about early days in Rock n' Roll., March 18, 2000
By
Gandalf T. Grey "the Wizard" (Hernando, Florida United States) - See all my reviews
I've always been a great fan of Allen Freed, (correct spelling of his name), and hated how he was chosen to "pay" for introducing White America to R&B. This DVD presents a very fair assessment of what happened, including Allen Freed's last words on WINS, radio in New York. This DVD also shows us that there is a price to pay for progress, and progress can only be made when someone has the courage to pay the price. Allen wasn't a saint, but his words proved prophetic when he said, "they can stop me, but they'll never stop Rock N' Roll".....Rock on..

I enjoyed this clever film immensely! The sound track alone is one of the best cruising tracks since "American Graffiti." Wonderful stuff!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars A GOOD STARTING POINT, October 19, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Rock 'n' Roll Invaders: AM Radio DJ's (DVD)
This should be just the first in a series of DVD's about the men and women who literally brought radio back from the dead. Freed and the others featured here were the pioneers, the groundbreakers. But there were others, then and later, who were also instrumental in molding and advancing the biggest evolution in radio broadcast history. Their stories should be documented, too.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good page in the history of Rock and Roll Radio, August 13, 2009
This review is from: Rock 'n' Roll Invaders: AM Radio DJ's (DVD)
I originally saw this on Public Television and thought it portrayed the way R&R radio was in the original Top 40 way.
Some really great scenes from what I saw.
I have not viewed the DVD version yet, but hope it doesn't have the annoying copy guard, or whatever it is to put a damper on your viewing.
