I purchased this item for my daughter's 2nd birthday. I intended to be able to push (roll) her around until she was able to ride herself. However, the foot pegs would not stay down and kept disappearing underneath, so if you are not watching, your child's feet or foot will get rolled under.(ouch) Since the foot pegs didn't work, my child tried to keep her feet on the peddles which turn as fast as you try to walk (and steer) and she could not keep her feet on the peddles either. Also, if your child is still learning how to steer, it is virtually impossible to push down the street safely. For the extra money, all you are getting is a sound effect gadget that is not very audible outside.

We tried a variety of riding vehicles for our one year old and this one is the best. I find he enjoys this more than the types where he is expected to push himself along with his feet. True, he can't reach the pedals yet but when the purple base is attached as a rocker, he can sit on it and pretend to ride. I find it a bonus that it doesn't rock too much so as to be dangerous - just enough so that he gets the feeling that he's moving. The rocker base de-attaches and becomes a handle so that an adult can push him around without getting a backache. The music and lights are cute, and the tune is not a familiar nursery rhyme so I find it less annoying than most musical toys. The most fun we have with it is when his sister (age 4) pedals and her brother sit's behind her, reclining with his back resting on the purple base/push handle (if you can picture that). So far we have had no problems with malfunction or breakage after 2 months use. We have a lot of fun with this toy, both around the house and out at the park.

My son was given this toy as a present for his 2nd Birthday. We skipped the rocking stage and built it so we can push him around. That same day we removed the pushing handle and he was off! He prefers to ride this toy rather than riding his bicycle and he literally takes this bike everywhere he goes. Best present he ever received. I have already purchased 2 of this item as gifts as well.

Gift was for our 1 year old grandson from a close friend of the family. It only took two (2) days for our grandson to figure out how to rock with it! The noises were appealing to him and not annoying to us. His mommy put the item together by herself within 20 minutes. Very easy to assemble. Can get himself off with some help from us but needs help getting on. Age bracket of 18 mos - 3 years is a good bracket. We have another grandson who will turn 1 in May. He will be getting one for his birthday as well. I love the idea of giving them their "first big wheel"! Don't have to wait until they are older. This toy grows with the child.

Great toy, worth the extra money for lights and sounds!,

We bought this for our son's first birthday. He LOVES it! I wasn't sure if the lights and sounds were worth the extra money (above the older version of this toy) but it definitely was! The music and lights are what make this toy one of his favorites! He loves to sit on it and rock. It's great that the music starts (in ROCK mode) as soon as he moves it. I can see that this toy will be one of his favorites for a while! I also like that this is a good replacement for a regular rocking horse....we don't need one now since we have this. Plus, this will be used for many more years than a small rocking horse. We'll probably get him a wooden one when he's 3 or 4 years old, but for now this is enough rocking for him!

Rock, Roll and Ride Delux,

We bought the Fisher Price Rock, Roll and Ride Delux for my son shortly after his first birthday. He has only used the toy indoors in the rock mode, being that it was winter when we purchased it. We bought the Delux model because my son loves lights and sounds. Immediately when we bought it we noticed that the lights and sounds options did not function in the rock mode like they were intended to. The lights are supposed to go off when your child rocks it. I even got on it (I weigh 100 lbs) and rocked and couldnt get the lights to come on. There are little buttons in the steering column that seem to control lights and sound function that arent working properly. We are a bit disappointed seeing how we bought the delux version for the lights and sounds which dont function well.

I bought this bike for my twin nephews for Christmas this past year. They were only 11 months old but loved them as they had just started walking and could climb all over them. Now that they are really mobile they love to push them while they are outside. It is great for them and easy on mom. The noises are great and one loves to rock to the music while the other likes to figure everything out on it. Definitely a great purchase!

How can you make a trike for an 18 month old with no seat belt, especially if you are going to use the bar and push the child. That is ridiculous. One year olds fall off, or jump off if they see something interesting. Also, the child can steer, how much fun is that to try to push a toodler that is trying to learn to steer but you are pushing. No thanks, it went back!!

I purchased this bike for my daughter for her first birthday. She had absoloutely no interest in it at all. I was a little disapointed. She is now almost 18 months old and she loves it. It took her a while to learn how to keep her feet on the pegs, but now that she has learned she always wants me to push her around. Don't get discouraged with younger kids. It will pay off eventually. This is now my daughters favorite toy!!!

This was purchased for my daughters first birthday. She loves it. She can "rock" it by herself, and loves to "roll" in it, and my oldest daughter, 4 1/2, has enjoyed the "ride". This is a great toy and I know we'll get years of use from it. FYI-our buttons and lights work great and we have had no trouble.
