Golf Instuction,
By A Customer
This review is from: Rock Solid Golf: A Foundation for a Lifetime (Hardcover)
This book explains the fundamentals of the golf swing in a clear, concise easy to understand language. It also presents a realistic explaination of the practice and committment necessary to improve one's golf game and provides guideance on how to develop a self improvement program. Probably the best golf book I have read since the Ben Hogan classic analysis of the golf swing many years ago.

With a wealth of instructional books on the shelves today, it's easy for a great book like this one to get lost in the crowd. Any golfer who is serious about improving his or her game should make it a point to seek out this wonderful first book by a nationally respected golf instructor!Dana Rader begins by dispelling common misconceptions about the game, information that is important to beginners and experienced golfers alike. She continues to talk about the game's fundamentals, proper practice habits, fitness for golf, and how to choose the right equipment and the right instructor. If you want to make true improvement in your game or start out on the right foot, by all means read Rock Solid Golf - A Foundation for a Lifetime!

Rock Solid Golf,

This review is from: Rock Solid Golf: A Foundation for a Lifetime (Hardcover)
This book is a golfers dream. A simple instructional book that covers all aspects of the game. The only book I have found that writes out a practice program for you and tells you how to find a teacher as well. Great read and well written.

Solid Advice - No Tips,
By
This review is from: Rock Solid Golf: A Foundation for a Lifetime (Hardcover)
I'm biased here - because I'm the ghost writer - but Rock Solid Golf is the perfect book for any golfer of any level who is a little bit confused right now. Let's face it, everyone is a golf teacher. Even my dentist tries to give me golf lessons! And advice comes from TV, magazines, the Internet, etc. Here, at last, is a clear blueprint for success. Dana tells it like it is - based on her over 20 years as a golf teacher - and several years as a GOLF Magazine Top 100 teacher.Rock Solid Golf does not offer instant "drop 20 shots" advice. Instead, and refreshingly, it's based on the fundamentals and what works. Following this model will not be easy, but it will ultimately produce excellent results. All the great golfers, including Tiger Woods, pay a lot of attention to their fundamentals. Dana explains why. I'm as good a testimonial as there is. Since working with Dana on this book, I've improved significantly and even won a small tournament last summer. Two years ago, I would never have won anything. The book also includes useful chapters on fitness, how to find a good teacher, the mental game, practice, and, of course, the short game. Dana's advice isn't trendy and it's not always easy, but her model works. If you need to know more, please email me at any time. If you really want to get better at golf, you need to buy this book.

Help Has Arrived,
By Edward Turner (Charlotte, NC) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Rock Solid Golf: A Foundation for a Lifetime (Hardcover)
This is an easy to read complete review of what you need to know to play golf well. After reading the book I made some adjustments to my grip, stance and swing plane and, combined with some minor arm strengthening exercises, I have increased the distance I hit each club in my bag by at least 10 yards. Every serious golfer should read this book. Ted Turner.

Simple but powerful,
By A Customer
This review is from: Rock Solid Golf: A Foundation for a Lifetime (Hardcover)
Golf is sometimes so complicated that it's not worth all the expense and frustration, and other times so simple it's beautiful. Reading this book, I felt the feeling you get when working with a great teacher who simplifies (vs. complicates) the sport. There are some sections in this book that you don't find in others (fitness, how to find a teacher, and loads of quotes from great players) but the biggest help to me was the reveiw of the fundamentals. In the book, Rader wrote something about posture that I was off on - a quick fix (for me, it was bending at the hips) and I'm hitting it better than in the last five years. Go figure - 25 bucks to fix something my club pro would've charged 125 for...per session.
