Exactly What You Would Expect for $30,

Lets be clear, you won't be using this to play the drums in your night band. This is budget drum throne, build solidly enough to support adults, but not something that is high in comfort or performance.
It's a vinyl covered seat, with standard foam padding. You will find the same construction type in something like a bar stool you would buy from target. My biggest complaint is slight wobble or give once assembled. This is a design issue as the throne allows you to swivel, but it's a basic bolt mechanism. A real drum throne with comfort and smooth swivel will cost hundreds of dollars. But for only 3-4 songs at a time this Rock Throne gets the job done. Just be sure to budget your expectations along with your wallet.

Not for people with big butts.,

I bought this thinking that it would be a good replacement for the hard, dining-room chair I've been using to play the drums for Rock Band 2. When I took it out of the box, put it together, (which, by the way, wasn't at all difficult) and sat down in it, I was slightly disappointed. It felt sturdy, (which is important because I weigh about 220) but the seat wobbled a bit. After playing a set or two on Rock Band, (about 20 minutes of play) I was really disappointed; my butt was already hurting. It became obvious that the seat just wasn't big enough to support me comfortably, and I would never be able to play for extended periods of time. I was better off using the dining-room chair.

This feels very sterdy and cushion is sufficiant. I'm 210 and don't feel like it has a problem handling my weight. This should compliment any one's Rock Band or Guitar Hero World Tour sessions.

This is a big joke. The stool will not stay together if you move it at all. I tighten the wingnut every time we play. It's not a tight fit (wobbles a lot) and the stool doesn't set high enough for me to play.
Bad news.

The feet are sturdy, but it wobbles where the seat meets the top of the vertical tube.

You get what you pay for, and this cheap throne feels cheap. The padding on the seat is not great, and it shakes a lot while using it.
However, it hasn't broken after extensive usage, so it's definitely not a waste of money.

I bought this for my children, but I would not trust it with an average adult of 175 or more. I bought a real drum throne for myself, but this one is great for my children.

Not tall enough.....,

Stool doesn't go anywhere near high enough for reliable use for an above-average height (5'10") guy to use with the drum set. Returned it within a few days.

This stool is not bad for the price (30$), but it only has limited height adjustment. The seat also requires regular tighting as it slowly becomes wobbly.
Not bad if you are just playing on a drum game kit, but look elsewhere if you are playing on a regular electronic or acoustic kit. |
