Another funny and quirky book from Rose! Veronica is a witch that has a band. If you love the 50's...the cars, cloths, hair, music and makeup you will love Veronica. Plus she has cool tattoos! It gets good when her vampire band memeber is murdered. The book takes you on a mystery that is twisted with funny car chases, psychics and vampire police. Lets not forget about Buzz...hot hot hot! I love the ending of the book and can't wait to see how the series keeps going. Nice lite and enjoyable read.

Another winner from Rose Pressey! Let the fun begin.Veronica mason and the Voodoo Zombies are playing at a vampire bar, with a record producer coming out to hear them in a few days. All of a sudden mayhem breaks out in the form of a vampire bar fight. When the coast is clear enough Veronica starts making her way to her car. She stops by the new bass player's van and finds him in ashes. With a vision of the staking playing in her mind. So begins this delightfully fun book. Veronica is a witch. One who you could say that her major accomplishment is casting a spell that doesn't ignite. Her best friend Kitty is a werewolf. With staked vamps and visions of the murder on the rise, it is up to Veronica to figure it out. Oh and did I mention the hot new bass player who comes on the scene after her bass player dies? Is he there to help her or just a distraction? But really what's a little distraction when he looks this good?

I'm so glad Mrs. Pressey decided to release this series. I couldn't put the book down! Short summary: Veronica is a witch who happens to be terrible at it, but loves to sing Rockabilly. She has a band full of vampires and is days away from the biggest performance of her life. All seems well until she discovers her bass player murdered and has strange visions regarding herself and the murder. The book keeps you engaged and the characters are funny. Not the typical vampire/paranormal book. I would highly recommend anything from this author.

Veronica Mason and the Voodoo Zombies are a rockabilly band with a huge gig coming up(a record producer is coming out to hear them)but Veronica never has anything come to her easily. Veronica is a witch that has a problem making any real magic happen unless you count tubes of lipstick appearing out of thin air. A couple nights before the big gig Veronica finds her bass player in ashes behind his van. Suddenly visions of the staking pop into her head. With the help of her werewolf best friend (every girl should have one), her jealous vampire guitar player, a moody detective, and hopefully a new bass player to help her find out who killed her deceased bass player and if she is next.Rose Pressey has done it again. This is an amazing story and the characters and storyline are wonderful. Her books just get better and better. I recommend her stories to anyone who listens to me! I am so excited to see what else Rose has written!! LOVE LOVE LOVE this author!!

I enjoyed this book quite a bit. However the behavior of the two main characters sometimes baffled me and left me feeling frustrated.Veronica made mistakes that seemed out of character for her, and ignored obvious clues and dangers. And why would the people protecting her do things like tailgate her car with the high beams on when she's driving alone late at night?!?!?! It's the details like that that made me give the book 3 stars. Otherwise it's a fun read, and I', looking forward to more books in the series.

I really liked this book. Veronica Mason is a likeable character. She is funny and smart. I liked Buzz, too. I kind of knew who he was, but it only added to the story. I also knew "who done it", but there was a pretty cool twist that took me by surprise. Nice job, Rose.

What an awesome book ! Filled with mystery, murder, romance and laugh out loud humor. Besides all of that you have the very cool 50's theme. It's an very good read smooth and nice with some surprises. I found myself not wanting to put it down at all. I can't wait to read the other books.

I purchased this book because I really enjoyed Me and My Ghoulfriends by Rose Pressey. After reading the description of Rock 'n' Roll is Undead, I thought it would be a slam dunk winner. Vampires, witches, romance, and murder mystery wrapped in the sexy world of rockabilly? FANTASTIC!Holy crap was I wrong. The characters couldn't have been more bland or boring. The dialogue had me seriously considering if my Kindle could survive being chunked outside out of sheer frustration. These are supposed to be adults in the swinging music scene of modern Memphis, and they speak to each other like they're trying out for a remake of the Andy Griffith Show. Golly gee willikers, do you like ketchup? Oh my, I love ketchup! Have you tried ketchup on food? Whaa...on FOOD? (Seriously, the half page ketchup conversation drove me f@#&%ng nuts.) I quit this book 30-ish% in because I simply didn't care who did it or what happened to the characters.

Well the Titel and Cover of the book always got me curious..so when I got it for free I gave it a try, but the story was nothing for me. I found it boring. The Characters have not been intressting for me, maybe coz I am not much a fan of Rockabillie. The story I found also a little boring, too predictable.

Summary:Veronica is the lead singer in the "The Voodoo Zombies" a popular Rockabilly band that is on the verge of being signed. She is also a witch with disappointing powers. A couple of days before her big gig with the record producer coming to see her she stumbles upon her bassist (who also happens to be a vampire) ashen corpse. Veronica is shaken by this find, but the show must go on with the biggest gig of her life right around the corner. The next day auditions are held and one bassist in particular catches her eye. Not only is he drop dead gorgeous but he is a fantastic bass player. Veronica knows she has found her man, well not her man since she has sworn off band mates, but her new bass player. Unfortunately she can't deny the amazing connection. When Veronica finds another dead vampire who is a part of the Rockabilly scene Veronica starts to suspect that she may be the next target and wonders if the killer might be someone close to her... Review: I really enjoyed this book; Veronica is a very likeable character. She works very hard on her band and has a lot of ambition and drive. Her frustration over her magic but refuses to give up is admirable and shows strength of character. The byproduct of Veronica attempting magic is quite humorous and will give you a chuckle. In general in this book you will find that Rose Pressey has a great sense of humor and you will laugh quite often. I also really enjoyed the Rockabilly aspect of this book. I can't say that I am a huge Rockabilly fan but I do find the culture intriguing, especially the fashion. Also, I believe this is the first PNR or even Contemporary novel I have read featuring this sub-culture of music. You will find rock, metal and even country fairly often but not Rockabilly which adds a unique perspective to this book. The side characters in this book are also entertaining and all have a well developed personality of their own. Over all this is an enjoyable read and since Ms. Pressey is an independent author you can get her books at a steal! I believe I only paid $3.00! Rock On! I will be continuing on with the series. |
