Compilation Missing Essentials, January 26, 2008

A budget line Sony CD of Mother's Finest songs taken from their 4 Epic albums. Don't get me wrong, any Mother's Finest is hot, and this 10 song collection is good, but cheaply done. Sound quality is a bit low, and no booklet except the cover. It does have MF staples like BABY LOVE, FIRE, RAIN, and their killer live version of Steppenwolf's MAGIC CARPET RIDE, which you must hear. But it's missing their epic rock/funk jam GIVE YOU ALL THE LOVE I'VE GOT INSIDE OF ME, their R&B hit LOVE CHANGES, and others. The essential best of CD that covers their Epic Years is NOT YER MOTHER'S FUNK.
