5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Rockin' CD!, September 24, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Rockabilly Essentials (Audio CD)
Though I'd already collected many of the tunes on this cd over the years on vinyl, having them compiled on this collection is even better. One of the best rockabilly tunes is "Black Slacks" by Joe Bennett & the Sparkletones, plus Dale Hawkins' "Susie Q", Roy Orbison's "Go!Go!Go!" & many other great tunes. Great cd for parties, so get it for your Halloween party next month and you won't be sorry.

Every song here is a real rockabilly classic-18 rockin' hits that will leave you wanting more. From the opening cut-Jerry Lee Lewis' Great Balls Of Fire to the last-Johnny Burnette's The Train Kept'A'Rollin'-you'll find it hard to sit still! Highly recommended and a must-have for collectors of real rockabilly.

5.0 out of 5 stars GREAT Rockabilly!, May 2, 2006

This CD is the ultimate I don't even know why they stopped printing it. This is good for people who are wanting know what Rockabilly sounded like in the old days. It has songs I had a hard time finding like Brenda Lee's "Bigleow 6200" where the 13 year old starts of with "here is a number to call if you want dirty lovin'" Dangerous! The most awesome hard to find song the one that predates punk by 20 years the uncontrollable insane "Love Me" by the Phantoms. This song is well worth the price of the CD you can tell the guys desperate for some lovin'! The whole thing is Solid from the erotic "Great Balls of Fire" by the Killer to the song that started Jimmy Page on the path to Heavy Metal " The Train Kept a Rollin'" by Jhonny Burnette and the Rock n' Roll Trio! Excellent!
