Rockabye Baby! Lullaby Renditions of Green Day

We started playing music in our infant's nursery after our first visit to his daycare, where we noticed them playing music in the crib room to provide white noise for the sleeping babies. The idea of a lullaby-ized version of music we already enjoy listening to appealed to us, so we started out with a couple of the titles in the Rockabye baby series. We've enjoyed them so much that we're now up to ~15 of these, if for no other reason than to provide US with some variety as we rock our child before putting him down for the night. By removing the words and playing the songs at a more or less constant volume, they provide a soothing bedtime experience without the sudden changes in volume and tempo that might otherwise startle or excite a child that you're trying to get (and then keep) asleep.

My wife is a fan of Green Day's music, and we have both enjoyed the Rockabye baby take on their music. Although it is not our favorite of the 15 we have (the Coldplay CD continues to rank #1 in our house), it is certainly one of the more frequent choices for bedtime, and a great way to get your infant started on Green Day. I would also highly recommend the Led Zeppelin, Queen, Rolling Stones, More Beatles (the first one is not as good), Beach Boys, and Guns N' Roses CDs for people interested in trying out the series.

My 5 month old niece was so intrigued by this music she immediately stopped crying, and by the end of the first track was on her way to sleep. Plus it's great being able to play music around the house that both of us liked.

I think its great that they made music that i listen to that is geared towards infants. Its Soft music, no lyrics, which is a plus.

Saves my ears on long car trips. My little lady will sing with me and the music and stop crying. My friends love the music and want to get it themselves. Another great buy.

I bought this for my infant daughter since I'm determined to expose her to as many of my favorite bands as possible. I love that the Green Day songs I know and love have been wonderfully transformed into soothing melodies which really do lull my child to sleep. I also love that the songs have remained in tact enough for me to still sing along with the real lyrics, if I so choose. (Of course, this humored my husband to no end one night when he walked into the nursery and found me putting her to sleep by singing along to Basketcase!)

Needless to say, the Rockabye rendition of these popular songs is a great way to get a break from the typical lullabies that may make you want to pull your hair out after hearing them too many times! A+

loove this album! the musicians did a splendid job recreating Green Day songs to sound soft and sweet, yet at the same time did not lose the harmonies and beats of the original songs!
Baby is sure to be inspired!!!

I bought this album when my girlie was just little, and she loves it, and so do my husband and I.

Not only are a lot of traditional lullabye albums annoying - they're too short! This one lasts long enough for her to go to sleep, without having to put the CD on repeat and have it playing all night.

I love being able to tell my friends that my daughter goes to sleep listening to Green Day! We like this disc so much, that I'm about to buy the Nirvana & Metallica albums.

So many Rockabye Baby cds to choose from and so glad I got Green Day! Their songs are fun and translate well into lullaby marimba sounds. Every song is recognizable. I bought the Eagles one as well, but prefer the melodies (right musical word?) on this cd better. My baby likes it as well; helps her drift off into dreamland.

My daughter listens to this while she's sleeping. The music helps her fall asleep. It's so great to play music other than nursery rhymes as well :) Great CD.
