.....But It's genius is in the fact that this can be played in a children's room to help them sleep as it is quite soothing and infantile in typical lullaby fashion. but best of all you can stay in the room with your child and not have the urge to blow your brains out to a crappy predictable lullaby from the 'Play-school company over and over and over again. I can listen to this and enjoy it many time's. Get it if you are also ready to choke the stuffing out of mickey and Disney Babies: Lullaby and the such. I have also noticed that there are lullaby versions of Nirvana and Coldplay which I will also be getting. now if they will just release that Motörhead lullaby I'll be set!

So, I'm obviously not an infant, but I have to say- I LOVE THIS CD. It's complete genius. I love Radiohead, and these lullaby renditions of their songs are very soothing and sweet-sounding. I like falling asleep listening to music, and this CD definitely does the trick.
Can't wait for the Pink Floyd one to be available!

...even if you don't have any kids. They're not going to replace the originals in my playlist anytime soon, but some of these tracks are quite pretty. We'll see shortly how the nieces like 'em.
A special note on "2+2=5": I've seen some people (on iTunes at least) complain that this track is mislabeled, and that it's really "Sit down. Stand up." Actually, this is probably the most interesting track on the album: it mixes both of the two Radiohead originals. It *starts* like "Sit down. Stand up.", but about a minute into the track it gradually shifts over to "2+2=5" so subtly you may miss the transition. Then, about a minute from the end of the track, it shifts *back* to "Sit down. Stand up." I'd been skeptical how either song would work as a "lullaby", since the originals both go sort of ballistic at the end; the answer is that the artist very cleverly mixed the two into one, thereby avoiding the originals' more aggressive parts.

AWESOME -- Sounds more like gamelan than a lullabye....,

When I stumbled across this on iTunes I chuckled. I LOATHE crappily-produced rehashings of popular (or classical, for that matter) music. But when I gave this CD a listen, I was absolutely astonished by how GOOD it is from the perspective of a composer, a percussionist, AND a Radiohead fan.
Now, first let me say I listened to the other albums by this group, and they are nowhere NEAR as good as this. In fact, they're pretty bad in my opinion. But the arrangements on this record are absolutely brilliant from the way they are arranged to the ways they are performed and produced. I was expecting to hear a MIDI-rendered music box-sounding thing tinkering away, but was amazed to hear a full percussion ensemble using marimbas, vibraphones, glockenspiels, gongs and cymbals, claves and shakers, as well as few well-placed guitars, rhodes, and piano. But the primary thing you will hear in these recordings is a masterfully-orchestrated full percussion ensemble. The website gives no information whatsoever as to how many people are in this group and exactly what instruments they are using, but I have been in a college percussion ensemble for going on 6 years now, and have written several percussion ensemble original works as well as arrangements, and let me say that this is DAMN WELL DONE. My first thought listening to this was that it sounds more like a Balinese gamelan ensemble than a lullaby. Indeed, I think they are really selling themselves short with the marketing ploy of this being "lullaby" music. This album is chock-full of arrangements I would love to listen to and to perform... hell, I wish they'd release the sheet music so I could bring it to our university percussion ensemble! In particular, "2+2=5" and "Everything In It's Right Place" are extremely well done. Both in their own idiom as percussion music and in their surprisingly accurate adherence to Radiohead's original music, these are brilliantly arranged pieces. Well worth a listen. Don't be fooled by the way this is marketed; it is masterfully done.

I got the Radiohead and Cure Rockabye Baby CDs before my daughter was born. I thought at best they'd be a novelty but I'm very pleasantly surprised. They're not meant to be amazing interpretations of these songs - they're lullabyes for a baby. My baby is actually soothed by the songs and they're such a great alternative to Brahms and other typical baby lullabyes. Two of these Rockabye Baby CDs are plenty - I created a playlist of lots of quiet mood music (Air, Beatles, Elliot Smith, etc) just for the baby and that works just as well. No need to get the whole collection when there's plenty of everyday music that can be used in the nursery.

A little fast-paced, but still wonderful,

We use Rockabye! CDs as our sleep music for our daughter since they are the only lullaby CDs that we enjoy as adults that are also soothing to our child. This is a great CD but we do think that the first few songs are a little fast-paced for lullaby music. We prefer the Led Zeppelin and Smashing Pumpkins CDs for that reason. Still, though, it's a small complaint about an otherwise great album that works like a charm for everyone in our family.

If you're looking for something different to listen to during those 3am feeding sessions, and are a fan of Radiohead, you might want to spend the $13 buck and take a chance on this CD. If you like it, there is a whole line of Rockabye CDs with various artists. They're pretty cool.

Daughter is a Radiohead fan for life now,

As a huge Radiohead fan, I got this for my daughter when she was born. As an infant, it calmed her down everytime. Sometimes I wonder if the reviewers who wrote "why not play the real thing?" ever had an infant with colic. This is great for bedtime and of course the real thing is great for daytime. My daughter still asks for "baby Radiohead" at bedtime and requests original Radiohead in the car. If you are looking for a lullaby album that is not completely annoying, this is the one to get!

My husband and I are huge Radiohead fans so this was a must have. We weren't too sure what it would sound like but were highly impressed and plan to buy other artists. My mother-in-law hates Radiohead, but loves this CD. Our five month old loves it too, and stops to listen whenever its on.
