Book Description

***************UPDATED CLEAN VERSION***************
Falling in love isn't always easy or pleasant. The intense and angst-filled story of Emma and Scott is a painful, gut-wrenching and exhausting portrayal of how hard it can be to let go...

Picking up the pieces and starting again in the US, Emma enrols in college with her cousin, Ashley. She is finally free to do what she wants and live how she chooses, and no man will ever rule her decisions or emotions again.

That is, until Scott Mason walks on stage...

Intense bad boy Scott is the lead singer of a popular local rock band. A ladies' man and Ashley's long-time friend, Scott holds an instant fascination for Emma - she finds herself drawn to him, even though he represents everything she hates and needs to stay away from in a guy. He treats females like he does a cigarette - light it, use it, and lose it.

For her cousin's sake, Emma makes an effort to get along with Scott, but she soon discovers that there is more to him than first appears, making him even more dangerous in her eyes. Behind the façade of friendship, jealousy, obsession, fear and insecurity fester - an internal battle rages as she fights her attraction and does everything she can to stop history from repeating itself.

One thing she knows for sure is that if she breaks her rule, it may destroy her.

Warning: Contains mature content - recommended age 17+.

Review

"It's nice to read about a heroine who isn't always trying to be perfect and isn't too good to make mistakes." ~ Smitten Book Blog
"It was emotionally driven, full of turmoil, drama and heartache. But it also had a lot of beauty and compassion in it as well." ~ Neda from THESUBCLUBbooks
"The scenes between these two are so freaking intense! Seriously...INTENSE!! Scott Mason is just WOW!" ~ Donna from Book Passion For Life
"Rocked Under was intense. It was also sweet, sad, funny, and super sexy. It made me crazy and happy and that says a lot about a book." ~ Andrea from The Bookish Babe

1.0 out of 5 stars Dull January 12, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
*sigh*

This book was very similar to another book 'Beautiful Disaster'.

Things to note which made the book a challenge to read include, but are not limited to;

Misuse of words and MISSING words
Grammatical errors
No character development ( I will elaborate on this point below)
Monotony
Unreliable/nonlogical character association

At the start of the book we are introduced to the main characters Emma and Scott. The 'love story' is between these two characters. The book lacked the development which moves from physical attraction/ lust to love. The initial meeting point of the two in the book did not progress one iota through out the book. In fact the only real change in the book was in the last 3 pages, where Emma and Scott finally TALKED TO EACH OTHER. The whole book was monotonous with same miscommunication and routine activity. Nothing change expect the very last end!

Also the sub-main characters, 'the cousin Ash and friend Newton' lacked in the supporting role to the main characters.

In a nut shell the book is about drinking, lust, who can make the other feel like crap the best and its all in a university/school environment where nobody does any school work or prepare for exams.

This book is as fictional as it comes.

2.0 out of 5 stars What is the guy's problem? June 5, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I was a little miffed by this book, but I stuck it out. It really felt like this was living through high school! I am sure high schoolers would really like the frustrating drama in the book. I liked the main character, Emma, but I was especially frustrated by Scott. What was his problem? I know a guy can have issues, but I kept asking myself, why am I putting myself through this? Why is Emma putting herself through this? The two kept up this dance of "I like you! I don't like you! You are such a jerk! You give mixed signals! Why do you do this to me?!" Urgh! And she give up virginity to someone she really doesn't want to give it to? What is the point? I stuck it out to the end, which was satisfying, only somewhat. Then I saw there is another book coming? I don't know that I will be getting it... I can't put myself through it again. Highschoolers, you'll love it. If not a highschooler, move on.

1.0 out of 5 stars Ughhhhhh. Frustrating. Ridiculous. Repetitive. January 19, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
Okay...so I'm not a hard person to please with books. I like rock star romances among the many different things I read, so I thought buying this book was a no-brainer...and I HATED it. Emma was, quite possibly, the most self-absorbed and disgusting character I've come across in a long time. Scott told her a hundred times he wanted her, then in many of her talking-to-herself musings, she would say how he's confusing. WTF? She played him and played him. He was sleeping around because she was hurting him. She messed with his head constantly like a whiny 13 yo. The reason why she was hurting him was stupid. The whole video thing from her past was stupid. The whole book was stupid. I could go on and on. I got tired reading it after awhile, but I finished it hoping we would finally get some Emma and Scott nice storyline. They got together in the end (of course!)...but by then I couldn't have cared less. THE ENTIRE BOOK WAS THE SAME STRUGGLE OVER AND OVER. Avoid this one. Trust me. It will drain you.

2.0 out of 5 stars Monotonous May 30, 2013
By Harper
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
It started off great but went nowhere quickly. It was full of sexual tension and angst. Emma kept pushing Scott away and then Scott would push Emma away. They would make progress and then get mad at each other again. The book seemed a lot longer than its actual pages. Spoiler alert: they don't actually get together and admit their feelings to one another until 92 percent into the story. That's a long time to go back and forth with their bull.
Also, the author is obviously British so there are a lot of Britishisms which I didn't care for. Also, a few typos. If you can deal with all of that then read this. Otherwise skip it.

2.0 out of 5 stars Umm June 21, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
So I read this book once and thought it was the greatest thing. But when I went to reread it I have never been so annoyed with a book with my life. The main character Emma spent 3/4ths of the book refusing to admit her feelings for Scott because she was afraid. When they finally got together of course he does something to mess it up. This book was way to whining for my liking and I don't know how I got through it the first time without annoying myself by reading it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another rock and roll bad boy April 17, 2013
By Quinn
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Gotta love the bad boy, the singer in a band, the one every woman is in love with and of course we all want him to be the woman he loves. Great story, little hidden secrets along the way but the characters were believable and flawed. Really enjoyed the ride.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love LOVED this book February 10, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I LOVED THIS BOOK!!

This is the kind of book I long for.
It felt a little Beautiful Disaster's Travis meets Thoughtless/Effortless Kellen, it was awesome.

It was nothing but angsty sexual tension and drama. The connection to main characters Emma and Scott have was amazing, I honestly loved this book so so much!! I wish Emma had been less stubborn and Scott had been more open, but it worked the way they were because it kept me from putting the book down until I was done!
