This book blasts off!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Team Rocket Blasts Off! (Pokemon Chapter Books #5) (Paperback)
I love this book! I have to admit it's not as good as Harry Potter. This book is funny and very well written. I love when Jesse goes after Togopie(sorry I know I spelled it wrong) and when they get trapped in the basement. Ash really lucks out in this one (it has to do with Persin). Team Rockets boss leaves them with the tempory job of gym leader. This story tells you why and how they joined team rocket. Plus, the battle in the end is pretty cool.

Team Rocket rocks,

This is a great book for the fans of Team Rocket, but if you're looking for some real in-depth character studies, then this isn't the place to go. Still, Team Rocket is as hilarious as ever in this book, proving that the show would be absolutley nothing without them! The book is about some of the team's misadventures (some very familiar TV episodes) and how they realize that they are their strongest when they are together. In conclusion, if you love Pokemon, then you'll definitley enjoy this book.

A disappointing Rocket-centric book,
This review is from: Team Rocket Blasts Off! (Pokemon Chapter Books #5) (Paperback)
If there's one complaint I have about Pokemon merchandise, it's that here in the U.S. we don't get very much Team Rocket material, and then, most of the stuff we do manage to get is incredibly biased against them. This book is no exception. Even though the story features Team Rocket, all the author manages to do is bad-mouth these three wonderful characters for 86 pages. -___- Team Rocket is THE reason why I watch Pokemon (and why I got this book), so seeing how out of character the author portrays them and how little character development they get is a major disappointment to an obsessive TR fan like myself. One saving grace, however, is that the story has a touching (yet fleeting) friendshippy scene and a scene of TR ingenuity, showing that they really are loving and intelligent characters, despite the author's insistence to the contrary. The book also has some adorable TR pictures. On the whole, it's not too bad, but as a Rocket-centric story, it leaves a lot to be desired.

One of the better Pokemon books,

If your child loves Pokemon, and mine does to the exclusion of almost everything else, this book is a great one. Mine is a slightly advanced reader of age 8, and more than anything else he loves to read and imagine himself in complicated Pokemon battles, to envision the world of cuddly, but fierce Pokemon. This book, which includes a battle using one of our favorite Pokemon, the elephant-like Phanpy, is one of the better chapter books for ages 8 and up.

James and his friends are just fall-down funny!!! Jessie is unbelivably gorgeous, Meowth is hilarious, and James is really handsome. James of Team Rocket has always been a bishonen. He loves his friends deeply.
