Pretty much, if you have a Genesis, you should definately pick this game up. It has great graphics (for the time of course) , has strong replay value and is just flat-out fun. In this game, you are a possum/cat/thing who has a sword and a Rocket pack. Those are like, two of the coolest things ever. It's an action-adventure platformer, and plays like kid chameleon mixed with strider. It's challenging, yet not frustrating, and is my 3rd favorite Genesis game. Plus, since the Genesis is cheaper now a days, it's worth buying one for. So if you don't have a Genesis, buy one and get this game(with Shinobi III and Sonic 3 too) and if you have a Genesis and don't have this game, I'd strongly reccomend it.

Konami's Rocket Knight Adventures, though seemingly an obscure title these days, is one of the great classic Genesis titles, an utterly masterful combination of the side-scrolling action game and the platformer. The segments are all colorful and varied (an early one has you flying off in pursuit of an airship), the bosses challenging and yet surprisingly intuitive in how to beat them, and the controls tight and responsive. The game has a simple but engaging storyline which is developed entirely through active developments, as opposed to passive dialogue, and the music is catchy and fits the flow of the action perfectly.
The action itself is entirely skill-based. The player isn't swamped with upgrades and power-ups and crippled if he loses them, as in a Contra title; rather, all one needs to do to beat this game is fight intelligently: know when to back off, time one's attacks right, and adapt to the patterns of one's enemies. Although one can beat the first level's weak pig soldiers by just jumping into the fray automatically, such behavior will get one killed in later levels. The best part of this game is its replayability factor. This game just doesn't get old. It is as fun the fiftieth time around as it is the first. If you have a Genesis, buy it. If you don't own a Genesis, then get one and proceed to track down a copy of this game. If you like platformers or action games at all you will adore this title.
