Book Description

June 20, 2005
James Bond meets the Coen Brothers in this riveting true story of three friends and their quest to build a Buck Rogers-style flying machine - the amazing Rocketbelt 2000. Perhaps the least incredible thing about their tale is that they succeeded in building and flying their futuristic device. But their obsession with the rocketbelt shattered their friendship and set in motion an astonishing chain of events involving theft, deception, violent assault, a bizarre kidnapping, a ten million dollar lawsuit, and a horrifically brutal murder. The Rocketbelt Caper also reveals the secret history of the rocketbelt, and the pioneering men who built and piloted it. The book includes twelve pages of photographs, plus 'Building a Rocketbelt: A Cautionary Essay' by Frank Dickman.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Book about a Terrible Situation!, August 9, 2005
This review is from: The Rocketbelt Caper - A True Tale of Invention, Obsession, and Murder (Paperback)
I received my copy of this book from the author, and I simply could not put it down. It had me glued to every word on every page! I am a sort of "rocket-belt enthusiast" myself, having written two books about the rocket-belt device. One being..."Airwalker:A Date With Destiny" and "The Amazing Rocket-Belt". I went into pretty good detail about the history and construction of this fascinating flight device, but Paul takes what was in my book and goes even further. He touches on the incredible history of the Rocket-Belt, and then describes in complete detail, this incredible TRUE STORY that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Yes, it has it all.....lust for money, power, fame and fortune, with a brutal and tragic ending in MURDER. I would not be surprised if a movie was made from this book.

Although this book is basically, and mainly, about this crazy story of men being obsessed with the Rocket-Belt, it does revive and captivate ones imagination once again about this Buck Rogers flight device. The books I wrote about the Rocket-Belt take you into the depth of building one for yourself. I hope this book will ignite a flame in people all over the country to again dream and bring into reality this magical flight device so we can all realize what was Wendell Moores ultimate goal.......personal flight devices for everyone! THIS IS A MUST READ FOR ALL ROCKET-BELT ENTHUSIASTS!

5.0 out of 5 stars The rocketbelt caper, July 12, 2005
This review is from: The Rocketbelt Caper - A True Tale of Invention, Obsession, and Murder (Paperback)
This book is a MUST HAVE for every rocketbelt enthusiast. Great research on the secret history of rocketbelts. SUPER research on the rocketbelt 2000 story, details never seen before. The cautionary essay on "how to build a rocketbelt" is very clear. Also interviews with first time rocketeers, pilots, builders, engineers and many. many more.

Recommended by the Airwalker Society of Rocketbelt Enthusiasts.
