I've owned this device for three months. When it works, it's just fine. But it's inconsistent. It doesn't pull in a signal reliably, causing the audio to cut in and out. In my case, I've been able to identify no obvious pattern, no obvious cause. It will work without disruption for, say, an hour, then begin cutting out for 15 minutes even though nothing has changed with the surroundings, after which it will return to normal function. Likewise, it can go for days without a problem, then one day begin a new stretch of unreliability.

I'm aware that Bluetooth can be problematic in general, and can require a great deal of troubleshooting with the environment in which a device operates. If you don't have patience for this, I would not recommend that you buy the product. Even if you do have the patience to experiment with placement and other factors, you may not get the result you want.

If you do buy it anyway, you'll be pleased with the easy setup. If you can avoid the cutting-out problems that I've experienced and if you are not a dedicated audiophile, I think you'll find the sound quality reasonably equal to the speakers you're using.

Works flawless.... other people say inconsistent or even poor quality sound.... i use my atrix 2 phone or hp laptop (both far from high-end devices) and conect thru the rocketfish to my pioneer vsx d409 stereo and its clear as day i'm an audio junkie and would reccomend it to anyone.

I've been using this product for months now and overall I'm very happy with it. My experience seems to be pretty different from some of the other reviewers here. I have experienced a few times when the music won't play and I have to unplug the receiver and plug it back in to get it working again. I think I've had to do that 4 or 5 times since I got it. I have not had the music cut out on me while playing though. Another small issue I have is occasionally there will be a loud popping noise coming from my speakers. I know it's from the bluetooth device because it never does it otherwise. The only other con would be that I use this on multiple devices. I use my phone, my tablet, and my laptop and to switch between devices I literally have to turn bluetooth off on the device it is connected to to switch to a different one. If there is another way to do switch between devices I am unaware of it.

Now for the pros. Very easy to set up. It plugs into the wall and then into the stereo. I then used my phone, tablet, and laptop to search for the music receiver. It paired very quickly and easily with each device (again, only after I shut bluetooth off of my other devices otherwise it wouldn't find it). It sits on top of my stereo and it has rubberized feet on the bottom so the wires coming out of the back don't pull it down. The sound quality is great. I notice no difference when switching between my devices or when using it for tv or movies (all sound from my tv goes through the stereo, but with cables).

I haven't tested the range. The device I am using is generally in the same room as the receiver so not sure how well it works at more than 10 feet. Overall, the device does what I need it to do and it does a good job doing it.

Set up using the optical cable and couldn't be happier. Crystal clear sound to my stereo that the 3.5mm connection couldn't produce. Highly recommended!

I play music from my computer when I am at home. My computer is roughly 6 feet away from my speakers. They are old speakers, but provide great sound. Bought this receiver from Best Buy because I didn't need anything fancy with a super long range so I figure this would be my answer. Brought it home, and found that at 3 feet from the receiver is the max this device can handle before cutting out every couple of seconds. Maybe I picked out a faulty one, but needless to say, I am returning it and will be looking elsewhere for one that can handle perform as the package claims.

It loses the signal within a few feet so what's the point of using it??!! I was excited to find this gadget for my old Bose system, but am returning it promptly. You cannot enjoy this unit from the next room. should have shopped the reviews first. I do see quite a few that based on reviews, are much better

I took one star away because I did have trouble pairing with my Note II phone, but pairing with my ipod touch was very easy. Sound quality is great through my 10 year old stereo and Bose speakers. No problems what so ever.

I love it. It's connected to my Sony receiver and Bose speakers. The sound is amazingly crystal clear. No humming but it can only gives as far as 10 ft without cutting off. Great idea if you want to go wireless.
