Never worked. No support from manufacturer,

I bought this product through another online retailer (icraveit.com) at a deep discount. I was hoping to use it outside in the summertime. Since it was winter, I tested it for a couple of minutes then put it away. A few months later, I brought it out while doing a house project. It worked fine...for just a couple of minutes. Then the speaker cut out and turned off. I turned it back on and tried again. It barely got through a song then shut off. I let everything cool down and tried it the next day. Same thing.
I contacted Rocketfish and they recited the manual to me. None of that worked. They told me I'd have to go to the retailer for warranty service. The retailer admitted the product sounded defective but said my warranty service was expired -- three months into a one year warranty? -- and I should contact the manufacturer. So, now I'm stuck with a useless warranty, a clueless retailer and an unhelpful manufacturer.

I think this would have worked fine for my purpose, except it kept shorting out within a minute of powering on. I returned it for a credit or replacement. I have heard nothing back since the return. So zero for functionality and not much higher for customer service.

Music in the outdoor,

The Rocketfish has good sound over all and plays as loud as I need. The battery charging does take 24 hours or more to show fully charged even when charger is plugged in while the unit is in play. The green charge lite indicated a full charger before I began to play the speaker. So I am not sure how long the battery only play will last.
I had to play with the transmitter location to keep a good signal to the speaker. The speaker could not find the signal at the end of a CD and the start of another CD. I have a security screen door, refrigerator, window AC unit in the general line of sight to were I want to put the speaker. So keep this in mind when placing the speaker! In general I have been satisfied with the Rocketfish system (price value). If you want to setup stereo there are no instructions in the owners manual! You will need to contact Rocketfish for instructions and purchase another transmitter and speaker.
