![]() | Rockford Fosgate Punch Series AmplificationFor over 25 years, Punch amplifiers have set the standard in the car audio amplifier industry and they continue to do so today. It's the reason that they have become the most popular amplifiers in the world. Each of the Punch family amplifiers reproduce sonic perfection along with impressive power in a compact chassis. |
Perfect for 4-way front-stage/rear-fill or 3-way front-stage/subwoofer systems. Click to enlarge. |
All connections are recessed into the amplifier's chassis and located on the bottom edge of the P400-4, for a clean, uncluttered install that looks great in any car. Click to enlarge. |
Features:
CEA-2006 Compliant
Power ratings on Rockford Fosgate amplifiers conform to CEA-2006 industry standards. These guidelines mean your amplifier's output power ratings are REAL POWER numbers, not inflated marketing ratings.
Differential Inputs
Differential input circuitry measures the voltage of both the (+) and (-) input signal. The circuitry subtracts the voltage common to both conductors (noise) resulting in only the clean signal. This allows only clean signal to enter the amplifier.
DSM (Discrete Surface Mount)
DSM utilize 1% tight-tolerances improving efficiency of the circuit, decreases cross-talk from other discrete components and lowers operating temperature.
Dynamic Thermal Management
Evenly distributes excess heat across entire amplifier heatsink.
MEHSA3
MEHSA3 reduces MOSFET temperatures, lowers distortion, increases durability and prolongs the output device life span.
NOMAD
NOMAD is a "real time" analog computer that protects your amplifier from shorting speaker wires and dangerously low speaker impedances.
Punch EQ2
Onboard equalizer with up to +18dB @ 35Hz and/or up to +12dB boost at 12kHz.
TO-247 MOSFETs
Rockford Fosgate amps use custom TO-247 MOSFETs. These have 60% more metal tab area for more power capacity, lower impedance and improved heat dissipation over traditional TO-220 MOSFETs found in competitor amps.
TRANS·ana
Trans·ana simplifies the signal path of the amplifier allowing the signal to travel through the amplifier at a lower voltage. The result is greater reliability and exceptional sound quality.

The usual excellent Rockford Fosgate quality,
This review is from: Rockford Fosgate Punch Multi-Channel Amplifier (Electronics)
Rockford consistently underrates their amplifiers. This was installed as part of a total system refresh. Along with this came the JVC KW-XR810 head unit and the Rockford Fosgate 12" powered subwoofer. it went into a 2003 Toypta RAV4, in place of an old (2 years old) Pioneer head unit. I had replaced the stock speakers with Infinity Reference 6.5" speakers in the front and rear. The sound was boomy and muddy, and I didn't think it could get much better without doing some serious sound damping and tuning. I was very wrong.
This system has transformed my Toyota. The Infinity speakers have come alive. The highs are crisp and precise, the mids are nicely present but not overwhelming, and the lows (I turned on the high pass filter to let the subwoofer do the job a 6.5" speaker just can't) are solid. The subwoofer isn't overwhelming, although it could be. I adjusted the response to be flat, without the subwoofer drowning out everything else. I've played everything from Bach to Dirty Vegas to Nine Inch Nails. It sounds amazing. Even before I had the subwoofer hooked up, it sounded amazing, and that just made it better. I also have it connected to an ancient Kenwood Sirius tuner that I got a lifetime subscription on about 8 years ago, and that also sounds great - just not as good as a new CD. I made up errands to run today, just so I could spend more time in my car. It sounds that good. I knew my old head unit was under powered for the speakers, but I had no idea that putting an excellent amp in there could change things this much.

rockford fosgate P4004 4 channel amp.,
By
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
this is a excellent amp. rockford test's every amp they sell and record the numbers then put them in the box with the amp. The P4004 is rated at 50 watts x 4 at 4 ohms, the one i recieved was shown to put out 93 watts x 4 at 4 ohms. this amp is extremely quiet, you hear nothing when in between songs. the P4004 is combined with an Alpine CDA 9885 reciever, a beautiful combo. the rockford really impressed me, I highly recomend it.
