nice speakers,
This review is from: Rockford Fosgate Prime R1652-S 6.5-Inch Component Speaker System (Electronics)
these are great component speakers if you are not going to use an amp. i am running them off of a pioneer premier HU that puts out about 22rms (it is rated at 45w) and they sound great. I recommend if you are not using an amp and have a decent aftermarket HU.

Decent upgrade to stock speakers in '02 4Runner,
This review is from: Rockford Fosgate Prime R1652-S 6.5-Inch Component Speaker System (Electronics)
Bought these to replace my tired stock speakers in my 2002 4Runner.Fit & Install: I checked to see if they would fit in my front doors and both amazon and crutc#field said "no", but I checked the dimensions and they looked like they would fit. I'm an adventourous guy, so I bought them anyway. I'm glad I did. BTW, the woofers fit fine w/o any mods(YEL wire to + & GRY wire to -). I had to remove the tweeters from the RF supplied flushmount base and then used adhesive to secure them to my 4Runner's tweeter bracket (after I unscrewed the factory tweeter from the bracket, of course). The tweeter wiring is 4Runner RED wire to tweeter BLK wire & 4Runner BLK wire to tweeter BLK/WHT wire. There is no separate crossover to install as it is already built in to the tweeter. It took me about 45 mins to do both doors. System: I have a JBL KD-BT1 head unit providing pre-amp outs to an Alpine 160W(40W X 4 ch @ 4Ohms) and a RF 375W(1 ch @ 2Ohms). My Alpine is powering my door speakers and my RF amp is powering a single 10" Eclipse aluminum cone sub (in a 0.5 cu ft sealed box!). Sound: Not audiophile quality, but much better than stock speakers. Very little punch from these speakers (crossover set @ 100Hz cutoff on 18db/oct.) No biggie b/c my sub fills in the lows. Tweeters perform better than I thought they would. Not too bright & the output pairs seemlessly with the woofer. However, I did tweek my EQ settings a bit. They sound dismal with Flat EQ settings - typ of lower grade speakers. Overall, I am happy with my purchase. The fit and finish isn't what I expected from RF - glued joints messier than expected, but I got them for $42 shipped. They are well worth that price!

Superb product! You just can't beat the quality of Rockford Fosgate. I installed these in the doors of my 2010 Camaro and what an improvement! The only downside is that if you don't replace the rest of your speakers they will drown out your mids and lows. Definitely see these fitting in perfectly with the rest of the equipment I've yet to install.

Totyota Sequoia 2002 (JBL's),
This review is from: Rockford Fosgate Prime R1652-S 6.5-Inch Component Speaker System (Electronics)
I installed this pair on my 2002 Toyota Sequoia and they sound awesome. The original JBL's cost very high, to the point where I was about to replace the head unit and speakers. These speakers fit perfectly, cost a fraction of the OEM, and sound better than the original JBL's.

I purchased these a year ago to install in a 94' Tahoe, there was no door speaker location to put them in so i bought expensive kicker panel replacements to install them into and they looked great. After install was complete and test n tune was done they sounded ok, they are Rockfords low end speakers which in most cases are better than stock speakers. For my application and the location i installed them could have had something to do with the sound quality. In any case they didnt stay long.... lol. I them purchased a pair of RF T2 6.5" compionent speakers to replace them and they rocked and hit hard and clear. I would recommend they speakers to people wanting a affordable minor upgrade. but if your more serious like i am buy PUNCH or POWER series. I am a huge fan of Rockford Fosgate, currently working on last upgrade to Tahoe with 7 amps and 19 speakers: 4 1" tweeters, pair of 4" mids, 6 6.5" mids all up front. And 4 6x9s, 3 P3 12"s and 2 T1 15"s in the rear of the truck. All amps are Rockford Fosgate and all Speakers are Power except the 3 12"s, there Punch (P3124s). Should sound pretty when done.... ha should be rockin as hell like Rockford was ment to do!

I bought 2 pair for the front and rear of my grand cherokee. These speakers sound great and come with lots of different mounts for the tweeters. The crossover is built into the tweeter so it made installation a breeze. The mids and highs made a great difference in my grand cherokee. I am very pleased with the overall quality of these speakers

I have stayed away from component speakers for many years because of my ignorance I suppose and laziness in regards to splitters. I bought these to replace my front door speakers in my dual cab toyota hilux which were not original kenwoods 3 ways and had blown one of the speakers. I have never been happy with the sound of my current setup but thought that I would give these a go main reason being that there is no separate splitters to install. Install was a breeze and the tweeters come with flush mount and surface mounts. What a difference these speakers have made, I can actually here the lyrics clear with these and they are able to handle way more bass then my old kenwoods. I also have a polk audio sub I am going to install when I have a chance to make a box up for it but at the moment I am very happy with the sound coming from these components and I dont need to hurry to install my sub. For the price I purchased these I cannot fault them and am amazed at the quality of the sound. I am kicking myself that it has taken me 23 years of driving cars to install component speakers.

Oh my God!!!!,

I paired these up with a JVC XR810 head unit using NO amp. You don't need an amp using these speakers and a good quality head unit. Mine is rated at 20 watts RMS and 50 watts max. They sound very clear, much better than coaxial speakers! They are very loud using just the deck. Excellent highs with nice mids. Im very impressed with the quality in construction and sound. Trust me when I say get these!
