5.0 out of 5 stars Too Cool!, February 2, 2000
By Mike (Olympia, WA) - See all my reviews
Wow! An instant hit. Songs such as Silverling and Sure Shot gave me chills. Carrie Akre's voice is as strong as ever (no surprise to those of us who've heard her before). Three members of the Rockfords are from the recently disbanded Goodness. If you've never heard Goodness before be sure you check them out as well, as Carrie was the lead singer of that band as well.

Overall a VERY good album. I'm certain it will stay in my own personal "heavy rotation" list for quite some time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Carrie Akre continues her ascension to "Rock Goddess"!, February 17, 2000
After hearing "Goodness'" 'These Days' CD, I thought Carrie couldn't get much better. I was wrong. She is quickly becoming the best female rock singer around. McCready's solos and echo effects add to Carrie's vocal mayhem in just the right way, and Rick Friel's bass lines finish off the mind numbing Rawk n' Roll! As we all know from Goodness, Danny Newcomb and Chris Friel can hold their own with anyone! "Shureshot" shows off everyone's talent to the extreme, and "Silver Lining" should be a radio staple for a long time to come. Up from the ashes of 'Goodness' comes something better........and I'm sure Carrie will be around for a while. Yeah, NW rock IS as good as everyone thinks!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great CD, February 3, 2000
By sdc (US) - See all my reviews
This is a great CD. The great guitar work & vocals merge in together perfectly. Most of the songs are pretty upbeat. My favorite songs are "Adelaide", "Flashes", "this Life" and "Something True". I didn't know when I got this CD that the band was made of Michael McCready of Pearl Jam plus members of Goodness & Jodie Watts. Nevertheless a great surprise CD. It'll be in my player for awhile. Overall rating 8-4.
