Terrific guitar trio! DUKE ROBILLARD sizzles and swings!, June 23, 2001

Duke Robillard and his band demonstrate on this CD just how jumpin' a trio can be! "TOO HOT TO HANDLE", "SHE MADE MY MIND", "TORE UP", "IF THIS IS LOVE" and others are virtuoso examples of the electric blues shuffle. Robillard can play electric blues with the best of them. In later years he has become obsessed with the jump blues idiom (horns, keyboards, etc.). He is less succesful there. But if you're a fan of blues guitar, check out this earlier disc, and some of his other work, like "TEMPTATION", "YOU GOT ME" and "TURN IT AROUND".
