About the Author
James "Rockin' Jimmy" Crimmins, a respected session player and educator passes down this practice routine -- which was passed down to him by monster jazz guitarist George Pritchart of Buddy Rich fame. Jim studied at the Grove School of Music and the Milwaukee Conservatory. Rockin' Jimmy's mind-blowing style has landed him gigs with the Blues Brothers, Albert King, Jason Scheff of the band Chicago, Pinetop Perkins and other greats. He is currently in the studio recording a solo album and has also recorded two releases with Rockin' Jimmy and the Blues Weasels.
Co-author Charles Rathmann first saw Jim play at a festival venue several years ago and decided on the spot to seek out Jim to study with him. The book was written as the material was learned, which the two believe results in a book that is easier to understand for rapid hassle-free learning.
