5.0 out of 5 stars This is the cut!, April 1, 2000
By
I too bought this album when it was first released in 1973, andnot having heard it since the mid 70's, am ecstatic that I found acopy of it on CD. Nobody that I know had a good album version.

Listening to "Payback is a Dog", "Could this be the End", "Love Comes Easy", or "Make it Last", has made its long awaited listening pleasure worth the cost.

This is a great album, and if you can find it, buy it.

The two popular cuts, "Rockin' Roll Baby", and "You Make Me Feel Brand New", are adequate, but the other songs bring back my nostolgia, for a time when the only thing that was certain, was Love.

Let me know what you think of this CD, especially after hearing it for the first time (play the first mentioned songs a few times). You should enjoy this one.

5.0 out of 5 stars AS GOOD AS THE FIRST TWO!!!, January 17, 2001

While this album didn't immediately grab me as "Stylistics" and "Round 2" did, once I listened to it a few times, I couldn't help but love it almost as much as the first two. Besides the hit title track and the all-time classic "You Make Me Feel Brand New," Stylistics fans will happily debate whether "Payback is a Dog" or "Could this be the End" or "Make it Last," and others are the best of the rest of the tracks. As with "Round 2," listening to this album makes you wonder why five singles weren't released from this album as there were on the debut. There are most definitely some missed hits on this winner. Now we Stylistics fans anxiously await the release of the "Let's Put It All Together" album on cd.

For some reason I've been thinking about this album alot lately. I've been meaning to do a little research on the internet to see if I could track it down somewhere on CD. I tried to find it about 8 or 9 years ago, but with no success. Imagine my utter delight when I entered the title in Amazon's search engine to see that it is available as an import. THIS IS THE BEST LP EVER RECORDED BY THE STYLISTICS. I remember listening to it over and over again in the 70's. I'm overwhelmed with joy to have finally found it. Amazon is the world's greatest internet superstore!

4.0 out of 5 stars Stylistics always good, October 9, 2005

Not their overall best CD but ranks up there. First and second albums still rank at the top. My favorite here is "There's No Reason". I'm a hardcore Stylistics fan so they pretty much always deliver in my book. Classy act.

This is, for me, their finest album/CD. Without question, it's a great collection of songs, from top to bottom-period. It also happens to be their last with the great Thom Bell and the late Linda Creed. My favorite songs on this CD are, " Could This Be The End " , " Make It Last " ,
" Pay Back Is A Dog " , and certainly, " You Make Me Feel Brand New " . I must say, I like most of their material, though nothing they did before or sense, quite measures up to this standard. The best they've ever done. Most worthy of five stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars MASTERPIECE OF SWEET SOUL MUSIC, September 7, 2001

The Stylistics is, maybe, the most original group of the seventies. Elegance and quality are characteristcs of these guys! This album hasn't just the mega-hit "You make me feel brand new", it has too "Pay back is a dog", "There's no reason", "Rockin'roll baby" and a team of songs that will make you dream!
I have the original vinil and hear it since the seventies! Who will replace The Stylistics nowadays?

5.0 out of 5 stars Classic and Rare Stylistics...., March 27, 2001
This review is from: Rockin' Roll Baby (Audio CD)
....Philly Soul at its best. My two cents is that the Stylistics will go down in history as the greatest vocal groups of its; generation. Why? Not just because of the classic "You Make Me Feel Brand New", but those jams like "Pay Back is a Dog" that means a great deal to those who grew up with them, but you cannot find or hear anywhere unless you buy the CD....

When this LP first came out I played it to death!!! Now, 27 years later, I can play it to death on CD and, guess what? It still sounds great. The remastering is to be commended making the overall sound quality of the disc very good!!! The songs all still have meaning to me. I can't say enough about this one....if you are looking to complete your Stylistics collection - get this one!!!

By the way....the little boy on the cover has got to be grown up by now. I wonder how he's doing??

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfection, June 3, 2005
By
This review is from: Rockin' Roll Baby (Audio CD)
Perfection is the only way to describe this album. Tracks 1-6 have been in my head since I was a kid listening to Pops blowing it through the sound system. Should've been 20x platinum.
