I bought this collection primarily for "Deep Cuts the Knife" which I had on a heavily rotated "jams" tape back in the day. There are several other pretty good songs on this CD, but it wasn't as good overall as I hoped it would be. It does help my 80's metal collection be more well-rounded, though, so I am glad I bought it.

A lot of the music from Helix can easily be lost in the mix with other 80s era Rock bands but for me the standouts Heavy Metal Love and Gimme Gimme Good Lovin make this a very worthy purchase. I also love the straight talk you get from lead singer Brian Volmer in the liner notes that talk about how the songs came to be. Other songs I did not know about such as Running Wild In The 21st Century and Good To The Last Drop are very good songs. So in short the songs as a whole are good. I even like the softer side of things with Make Me Do Anything You Want. This hits collection has a little bit of everything you would expect from an 80s era Metal band. The sound quality is simply outstanding. The clarity is great and it is quite obvious that some care was taken in preserving the best possible sound.

After hearing the "MASTER" of this cd I will definintly be buying it even though I already have every song on it. The remaster job is excellant and the tracklist is really good. Once you get this I urge you to goto www.planethelix.com and buy the rest of their catalog. This disc has something for everyone.
