Provides Clearance for Edge Work and Finishing
Each Bench Cookie is three inches in diameter and one inch thick, providing enough clearance for using a router, or sanding, finishing, carving, and more. Edge sanding and routing are easy with the stabilizing Bench Cookies.
Protect Your Work
Because they don't leave marks, the Bench Cookies are also ideal for protecting work pieces from damage during sanding, finishing, and assembly.
Replaces Clumsy and Time-Consuming Clamps
With the Bench Cookies, you won't have to worry about locating your clamps, having enough clamps, or adjusting their position to do your work. The cookies set up easily and give you room to work all the way around the project. Without having to remove and reposition clamps, you can also flip your piece around quickly and easily to adjust for easier access or to get to the other side.
Easy to Use
Simply set the Cookies on your workbench, and place the work piece on top. You can use a belt sander with a 60-grit belt without having to worry about the piece moving under tool pressure. The Bench Cookies work best when you use four of them to stabilize your projects.
What's in the Box

Great Product, but beware of the postage,

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Such a simple innovation, but well worth it. I haven't used it yet for routing edges, but I did work it to stabilize wood pieces for sanding. It worked really well with no clamping required and gave me access to the entire piece. I WAS surprised though at the postage charge. I bought these as part of a bigger Amazon order. Nowhere in the transaction was there an indication of what the postage from Rockler would be. It ended up being $6.95 or roughly 60% of the total purchase. For that, I should have gone to the store rather than purchase online...

So Far, So Good,

This review is from: Rockler Bench Cookie Work Grippers, 4-Pack (Tools & Home Improvement)
Its not often that I get to recommend something that's useful, effective AND cheap! So I wanted to make sure you all knew about Rockler's Bench Cookies. If you followed our AWFS 2009 coverage, you probably heard enough about these little puck-shaped doo-dads. For those who haven't, they are little "puck-shaped doo-dads" with a bit of soft gripping rubber on each side. The idea is to not only elevate your work off the bench for sanding and routing tasks (with no clamps), but to also stop the workpiece from sliding. Now we've had router mats for a long time now and I used to buy a similar material in big rolls at Costco. But I found that the rubbery material always left its pattern behind in the wood and it would take forever to sand it out again. But so far, I am not having that problem with the material on these little guys. And to answer your first question before you even ask it, dust doesn't ruin their gripping power. Just knock the excess dust off and you're good to go! I'll be anxious to see how they hold up after extensive use in the shop.

Works well, but poor value,

In my experience, these bench cookies do a good job of holding pieces in place, providing that the surface they're placed on is clean! Excessive sawdust and debris definitely make these more likely to slide around.
Unfortunately, the Bench Dog brand cookies also available on Amazon do the same thing but cost less.
