Product Description

No need to panic with our hands-free panic button. Just bump the "Stop Paddle" to quickly shut off power. Large, bright paddle is easy to find when you're in a tight spot. Locate it near your hip or knee and you'll never have to take your hands off the workpiece. Great for use with router tables or any workbench where you use a stationary power tool.

Includes 7 foot grounded cord to outlet and 2 foot female cord to power tool for quick plug-in and use. Mounts to Rockler steel shop stands or any other surface with screws. Heavy-duty 15 amp switch. Sturdy construction takes the hits and keeps on ticking.

Customer Reviews

Easy to install and works well as advertised.
Mike B.
The only piece that isn't particularly sturdy is the the big "STOP" flap, which can easily be removed to reveal a standard red stop button.

I mounted this on my portable router table and I really like it!

I wanted a safety power switch for an older band saw. This one is perfect. Although it's plastic, it appears industructable. You don't have to fumble around to stop the machine. Just punch it with your fist, etc. The recessed Start button prevents accidental engagement. For non-safety applications, the large Stop paddle can be removed revealing a normal size Stop button.

Bought this switch for my custom router table. Looks cool with the big stop sign paddle to make it easier to turn off, but difficult to turn on and off none the less. Maybe I got a bad switch. Both the on and off buttons take an abnormal amount of force to engage. The big red stop flap comes off if you don't press it exactly in the center of the paddle. Also, my router table is a cabinet design with drawers so I needed the cords to come out of the top of the switch so they wouldn't go through the side of the cabinet and interfer with the drawer slides. I was able to take the switch apart and turn it around in the case so the leads now come out the top, but still, the difficulty engaging the buttons makes me pine for the good old days of a smooth operating rocker switch.

You will love this switch. It was very easy to install on a extension that I built for my table saw that now is a router station. It works just as it should, there is nothing that I would change. I would buy another if the the need comes up.

Have you ever finished a cut on your table saw and then had to figure out which piece is going to cause the least amount of damage when you let go of it to turn off the saw? This switch worked out so well I ordered two more. I have one on the router table and two on the table saw. I positioned them so that no matter where I stand I can hit one with my knee.

I have to say that this is a great product. The switch is really well made and mounted to my table saw with just four (4) screws and a peice of flat bar. With the plug on the outlet of the switch I will be able to use the same switch with my router that was added to the table saw .Just unplug one and plug the other in and your off.I really like the over size paddle on the front of the switch.Makes it very easy to turn the power tool off.Just the up grade I was looking for.

Used this switch on my JessEm router table. This was a much better option than reaching under the table to turn the router on for each use, plus it added a nice safety feature of providing instant access to control the router. The switch is very heavy duty and much larger than expected. But it mounted well to my router table and works very well. JessEm should include something like this in their standard router table package.

I have this switch mounted on a custom router cabinet. The unit mounts easily with 2 screws or bolts and features a very heavy power cord. The only piece that isn't particularly sturdy is the the big "STOP" flap, which can easily be removed to reveal a standard red stop button. The action on the buttons is actually smoother than the similar unit on my Jet tablesaw.

You should be using this switch or one like it. It makes running your "Finger Eaters" just a bit safer when mounted in an easily accessible location. I highly recommend mounting the switch where you can use your knee to stop the tool without moving your hands or the stock into harm's way.

I have added these switches to my router table and jointer making them much safer to use keeping your attention focused on controlling the stock and thus avoiding a close encounter with the "teeth" of the beast.

Do yourself a favor and get one or more, you can't be too rich or too safe!
