Product Description

This jig allows you to rip thin strips on the left side of the blade, eliminating the danger of pushing narrow strips between the saw and fence. Since the strip is not trapped between the blade and fence, there is also less risk of binding and kickback. It's simple to use; a single knob locks the jig into the miter track and locks your setting at the same time. Ball bearing guide keeps your workpiece firmly against the fence for perfect repeatability. Use the graduated scale to fine-tune for extremely thin strips.
Note: Ripping thin strips requires the use of a zero-clearance insert. Guard and splitter were removed here for illustration purposes only.

The perfect tool for edging, inlay, bent laminations and more. Solid phenolic for durability. Low-profile miter track clamp locks in at any point along the miter track. Also works great on the bandsaw as a single-point fence for cutting curved slats in multiples. Adjusts from 1-3/8" away from your miter track to 5-11/16" away from your miter track, enough for the thinnest rips on any table saw.Measures 5-1/4"W x 8"L.The jig is stationary, while the fence is moved for each cut.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works like a charm..., January 2, 2012

This review is from: Rockler Thin Rip Tablesaw Jig (Misc.)
Bought this puppy for use with a left-tilt Unisaw, and it does a nearly perfect job making repeated thin cuts, even very thin cuts for simple veneering. I own and use a band saw, too, but I pick up the Rockler thin rip jig and head for my table saw when I need to make any number of identical thin cuts. I highly recommend this item.

1.0 out of 5 stars Rockler Thin rip jig review, December 25, 2011
This review is from: Rockler Thin Rip Tablesaw Jig (Misc.)
I bought this jig from Rockler specifically to rip thin stock for inlay work using my Bosch 4000 table saw.

Unfortunately:

Like the review above, the jig does not extend to anywhere near the blade. About 1/4" out in my case.

The miter slot clamp on the jig does not tighten into the saw's miter slot.

The bearing rubs against the opening in the jig since the mounting hole was drilled off-center.

I can fix some of this by extending the slot on the jig, widening the opening in the jig and maybe applying some tape to the sides of the
clamp. But out of the box, it's worthless for what I originally purchased it for.

I would send it back but that would double an already heavy investment in shipping costs ( part of living in Hawai'i ).

Fortunately, unmodified, it fits my Ridgid bandsaw and might still be useful.

I have a Powermatic 64A Artisan saw (left tilt) and this otherwise clever device won't work in my existing miter bar slot. It doesn't reach the blade from there (and you have to zero it out by touching the blade). I think I can make it work by klugeing the adjustment slot a bit, making it longer. But if I wanted an amateur-looking version of this tool I would have made it myself. Still, if you don't have a Powermatic 64A this is probably a fine tool for the money.
