Yet again Amazon came through with a great shoe deal. I picked these up a couple of weeks ago when the price had dropped to $30 shipped. My husband is very familiar and happy with the Sperry Top-Sider shoe which is almost exactly like these. When i saw that the price on these had hit an unbeatable level i had to buy them. They arrived in the usual 2-days and he couldnt be happier. The quality is fantastic, the look, as usual is great. Rockport as many know is a very good brand and these definately dont put it to shame. Very well made shoes. My husband has a problem walking for extended lengths of time of hard surfaces such as concrete, he gets backache. He has been wearing these for two weeks now and so far no problems. If he can wear a pair of shoes for 2 hrs without any discomfort he considers them a keeper.

Watch the price, it does drop to a lower level on some of the models.

I bought these for my father for father's day. He can't stop raving about them. He says they're the most comfortable shoes he's had in a long time.

I've been wearing Rockports for over 10 years and it seems as if the quality of this pair isn't as good as the past, even though it's the same "model" as I've purchased before. The rubber on the sole seems much harder, not as good for sailing and keeping it's grip on the deck. Also the laces seem to be made of a cheaper leather than with past shoes.

These Bridgeports are probably my sixth pair of Rockports and my third pair of Rockport boat shoes in the past 25 years. You really can't go wrong this brand. They are always comfortable from the start, sized consistently and look good with any kind of casual wear. I need extra wide shoes and Rockport provides that size (although I was disappointed that the Schooner boat shoe does not come in the extra-wide size.) My last pair of boat shoes are now my work shoes when I'm working wood and building cabinets. Those came from Nordstroms five years ago or so, and were badly sewn along the back rim. No matter. I just wore them anyway rather than go through the hassle of returning them. I figured I could take them to a shoe repair shop eventually, but that has not been necessary. They've held up rather well. I highly recommend all of Rockport's shoes.

Update 3/14/10: After wearing these shoes for over a year or two, I have some complaints. The rawhide laces are too thick and don't always stay tied. While it is admirable for Rockport to want to create long lasting laces, these are a little too inflexible. Also, the shoes don't slip on easily like the old Perth shoes I previously owned. They've made the tops of the shoe ride higher which makes it necessary to use a shoe horn to slip into them.

good shoe feels great (not as comfortable as people exaggerate but does feel very nice) washable leather, it cost, for me, less then some shoes at walmart so i'm very happy

You have to love these shoes. I bought a couple extra pair when I found out how nice they were.

These are the finest boat shoes I've worn. Extremely comfortable. When the shoes become soiled, just throw them in the washing machine, let air dry and they are ready to wear.

I was hoping that this was the retooled "original" Rockport premium deck shoe which was the most comfortable and rugged deck shoe that I have ever worn. It looked the same in the photographs, even the tread was very similar. Unfortunately, upon receiving the shoes, inspecting them, and wearing them, they were far inferior to the original quality. I had no choice but to return them for a refund.

My husband had been wearing a pair of old beat-up Bridgeports which he wore for "kicking around." He loved them so much that he wore a hole in the bottom of both soles refusing to give them up. The only way he would part with them was in exchange for a new pair. He also likes the new pair as they look sharp, sporty yet classic, but of utmost importance, they are comfortable.

Received this pair of shoes in a short period of time. Very comfortable and for a great price! I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a nice comfortable and casual shoe.
