Caution, Don't Scuff
on May 4, 2012
I think Rockport shoes are among the more comfortable shoes made. They're somewhat stylish as well. That being said, the financial throes going on in our country and abroad have resulted in companies, like Rockport, experimenting with different manufacturing techniques in various countries. I got two pairs of Rockport oxfords at the same time. These black Evander Moc Toe Oxfords and a pair of Oxblood Ellingwood Cap Toe Oxfords. The black shoes got scuffs early in their wear which never buffed out. It was like a thin membrane, that once scratched, could not be coated, buffed or shined back to it's original condition. The oxblood ones got scuffed and more, but easily rebounded to shoe polish. Both were made in Vietnam.
