Rocks is a very informative, educational book that would provide a start for learning about rocks. The book includes colorful photographs and illustrations to catch the reader's interest. The language used in the book is very simple and easy to understand. While the book does not provide a great deal of specific information it does touch on the rock cycle and the types of rocks. I found the table of contents, index, and key terms to be very useful in this book.

This is a book your preschooler or kindergartener may enjoy hearing. The vocabulary is not too challenging, and the photographs are interesting.

There is an index, and the glossary includes words like basalt, crust, dense, lava, rock cycle.

Talks about acid rain and how people need to work harder at using less energy at work and home.

The book features Devil's Tower in eastern Wyoming on the cover, but Devil's Tower is not inside. Still, if you have a little rock-obsessed child, this book gets into rock types, formation of mountains, erosion, the Mohs hardness scale.
