Beautiful setting, wonderful music,

This review is from: Red Rocks Homecoming (DVD)
One of the most well known outdoor concert amphitheatres is the beautiful Red Rocks, Colorado, located at the foothills close to Denver. Done in conjunction with Rocky Mountain Homecoming, the Red Rocks Homecoming features the voices of gospels beloved and favorites. Interspersed are shots of beautiful mountain views, sunsets, and tourist sites.
Ivan Parker opens with "Then He Said, "Sing!" and comedy with Mark Lowry is enjoyed as the Gaither Vocal Band (David, Guy, Bill and Russ) sing the old Gene Autrey cowboy classic, "Ridin' Down the Canyon." A few highlights are, Lynda Randle singing "A Perfect Heart"; Donnie Sumner passionately sings "The Anchor Holds" and "They Call it Gospel Music" with Russ Taff. Among the groups performing are the Greenes, "One More Mountain; "Mention My Name" with the Hoppers; "The Reason That I'm Standing" featuring the Crabb Family. A tribute song by Legacy Five "Heroes of the Faith" is about some of the adored gospel heroes who have gone home. And the Speer Family sing "I Never Shall Forget The Day". In addition, two comedians share the stage; Aaron Wilburn has fun with aging. Wilburn played in the Happy Goodman's band. You can see him comment on a classic DVD concert The Happy Goodman Family: Live in Texas. Comedian Taylor Mason performs with his pink puppet pig. Other songs include: For I'm Persuaded To Believe - Mark Lowry Bigger Than Any Mountain - Stephen Hill, Ann Downing, Amy Lambert I've Never Loved Him Better Than Today - Mike Allen, Jake Hess, Wesley Pritchard, Reggie Smith There Shall Be Showers Of Blessing - Sue Dodge, Ben Speer I'm Rich - Jessy Dixon, Stephen Hill Thanks - Joy Gardner, Lillie Knauls So High - featuring Terry Blackwood When The Rains Come - Johnny Minick, Joyce McCollough, Jonathan Martin, Joy Gardner, Ivan Parker, Ladye Love Smith, Sonya Isaacs It Is Finished - the Gaither Vocal Band Wonderful music, beautiful Colorado mountain setting.....Rizzo

I bought this some time after I purchased Rocky Mountain Homecoming. This is a good DVD too, though not quite as lovely as RMH. There is one song in particular that moved me. It is toward the end and is by Donnie Sumner. The song is, The Anchor Holds. I loved it. A fantastic rendition. This DVD is well worth the money, and though it does not come together quite as well as some, it has all those beautiful people in it. Can't beat that!

I'm so glad that I was able to find this DVD. I'd never heard of it before. You could almost feel the wind in your hair as the Gaither's choir and individuals sang. A couple of surprises were fantastic. The crowd was huge! Just wish I could have been in that crowd.
It's well worth the money!
