Biography

Comprising Aaron Morgan (vocals/keys), Chris Kubik (bass), Aaron Hunt (drums) and Ryan Morgan (guitar), Seabird and Til We See the Shore is already connecting with listeners. The band’s hometown CityBeat writes, “Strewn with British influences, Seabird’s music holds the echoes of Coldplay and Radiohead, but there’s an American structural dynamic that runs throughout it ... Editorial Reviews

SEABIRD has a knack for creating songs that you can't get out of your head. Their debut release `Til We See The Shore' is an album that received critical acclaim from media for doing just that. Seabird has seen their music make its way on to hit TV shows like Grey's Anatomy, Numb3rs, and others giving them exposure on the major television networks. Their sophomore release Rocks Into Rivers reflects the experience and maturity you have come to expect from Seabird. Working with producers in LA (Matt Hales - Aqualung) and Nashville (Paul Moak) Rocks Into Rivers delivers honest songs about love and loss Seabird is known for, while merging the sonic worlds of modern piano rock and Brit-pop to create one-of-a-kind melodies. Rocks Into Rivers is sure to be another Seabird record to receive critical acclaim and is a must have for every Seabird fan and a must listen for those who have yet to experience the band.

Believe is a great song with a great beat.

Rocks Into Rivers is the follow up to Seabird's 2008 critically acclaimed label debut, `Til We See The Shore. The band split its time between Ocean Studios in Los Angeles and The Smoakstack in Nashville, honing what brothers Aaron and Ryan Morgan are calling their most exciting project to date. "For this album I think we wanted to mature both musically and lyrically," says Aaron. "We have families now and are experiencing different aspects of life, and we think that our audience has matured with us as well. We want to continue making songs that inspire people to change and grow. There is a musical progression in these songs, they may be a little less poppy but at the same they definitely showcase our rock sensibility."

Seabird recently joined headliner David Crowder*Band with Danyew on the Church Music tour. I got the great opportunity to see the show and Seabird performed a great set including two new songs and hit song "Rescue", which was featured in promos for ABC's Emmy-nominated series, "Pushing Daisies." The new project's first single, "Don't You Know You're Beautiful" is one of my favorite new songs of the year. The song really sets the tone for this excellent album with a great piano-based rock beat, similar to The Fray. The song is about a girl trying to stand up as her family falls down around her, believing lies about herself as though her parent's divorce is her fault. The song is about wanting her to know the truth. "Believe Me" continues the great piano-based rock, with Aaron singing about himself and his promise to be the husband and father he knows he should be.

This album may have been disappointing to those expecting an album in the encouragement for the hurting style of the Till' We See the Shore. Instead, "Trust" echoes triumphantly "the world is ours", "Rocks Into Rivers" states "I'll make you shiver when I turn rocks into rivers", and "Finally Done Right" proclaims "Michael's come home to reclaim his throne". What has remained constant is that Aaron can still hit the high notes and Seabird can still create catchy beats and melodies. This may take some time to grow on Seabird fans, but it is a welcome maturing of the band.

As the other reviewer said Im also very disappointed with this album. When seabird came out with the first album it was something else. The music was a lot better "less commercial" to the point that I still listen to it without getting tired. This album is nice but the music turns more to the commercial side and now im tired of it. Most of the songs are catchy but after some time the cd will start getting dust!!! I hope their next cd goes back to the beginnings.

Having been to a Seabird concert in Dayton, OH in early December, I decided that I'd purchase this CD.
Believe is a great song with a great beat. It's very energetic.
I like the guitars a lot in the song about Michael Jackson.
I like the way the piano/keyboard sounds with the guitars in all of the songs.
I'm a big fan of drummers and Aaron Hunt does a good job with the buckets.
