I loved the detail with GTA 4, but i was really sad they took out all the customization. I miss car modding, or going to the gym to become a musclebound jerk. Maybe a mix of the detail from 4, with a decent amount of customizing. I could spend hours pimpin my ride, or my guns
I loved San Andreas (even more so because I grew up in Cali around the same time period the game takes place in). I bought GTA 4 with high hopes that it would surpass San Andreas fun factor. It didn't. It bored me to tears to the point that I returned it for a refund. My hope is that this returns to the fun that GTA has been missing, and hopefully has the return of CJ as a download or something for the game...
I want it like gta4 with san andreas twist. I like gta4 with the realistic gameplay, great story but i like san andreas with the customization of cars and your character. Gta5 needs a gripping story, customization, ability to buy house's and cars, police are smart like in mafia2, coop online, go in a lot of stores and buildings.
I didn't care much for the "realism" of GTA4. Too much realism in video games takes away from the fun for me. Hopefully GTA5, while it can still keep some of the realism, goes back to a bit more of the fun element that San Andreas had. But, because of how 4 was for me personally i'll wait to be able to play this one before I decide of I want it.
My vote goes to GTA IV. I loved GTA SA too, but compared to IV.. Well, I think the controls felt much smoother in IV, and honestly, it's still not THAT realistic - the fun-realistic ratio was nearly perfect in my opinion. I haven't played any of the Saints Row games but aren't those just like goofier/more unrealistic GTAs anyway? But I agree hands-down with everyone who wants the customization aspect of SA to appear in GTA V.
I want a first-person option for GTA V. I finally got GTA IV for the PC last month, and I tried out a first-person gameplay mod. I instantly fell in love with it. The whole map seemed a lot bigger, and the gameplay and mechanics just seemed more fun in first-person.
They should do what Bethesda does, optional first- or third-person.
San Andreas was awesome because of its size and diversity. I could fly a plane across the desert one minute, steal a jetpack from a military hangar the next, and then go gamble at the casinos. There was so much variety that GTA IV lacked, and would be much happier with a game style like San Andreas. The one thing I didn't like about SA was that you had to eat, granted it was realistic, but there is a reason to play games and extreme realism isn't one of them for me.
"I want parachutes, bikes, ability to fly planes and derail trains."-Tyler N, I agree completely. I want a good story line, but I also want to screw around now and again, something that was limited in GTA IV in my opinion.
I want extreme realism as focus, because for unrealistic epic action, nothing can beat Saint's Row 3. GTA is more about the realism, and I want them to focus on that. That being said, I wouldn't mind cheats that would give the SR3 style gameplay too. But I'd rather have them really spend time on the actual gameplay before thinking about cheats lol
Ohh yeah, I forgot about older GTA cheats. I want the ones where you can control pedestrians again, and some other fun ones, but still with realistic gameplay. I love how you can enter them through your phone though, thought that was clever.
I liked GTA 4 better than San Andreas, but I agree that the lack of parachutes and planes was disappointing. First person would be cool. Customized weapons with attachments would be awesome. The cell phone in 4 was a great addition. Also, Driver Parallel Lines had something I would like to see incorporated. In Driver, if you were wanted it would attach to your car, if you were out of sight of the police and jumped into a clean car it would be suspended with a time limit. If they didn't recognize you in the clean car in that time limit, your wanted level disappears. So much better than GTA's star system.
