The good: Probably the best price you can find for a magnesium housing, cast shoe, and electric brake.

At 15 amps, there seems to be enough torque to power through most materials and obstacles. I used this to tear down and replace rotting wood on an exterior structure. I ended up cutting through several deck screws lengthwise (i.e., parallel to axis) that were hidden from view under a top layer of 3/4" hardwood plywood. The saw didn't slow down - I just saw sparks and cleanly cut deck screws, and the included blade still feels and works like new.

The magnesium blade housing makes the saw light and maneuverable.

Mine included a small rip/crosscut fence/guide that looks like it would be good for cutting 2-6" widths (it's marked up to 8", but I don't think it would actually cut that far).

The cast shoe seems flat and square. There is a slightly visible bulge around the blade in the when the saw is upside down, but this seems to flatten out once the saw is under load and flat on a work surface.

The blade indicator (red marker on front) seems to line up with the blade and provides some decent guidance about where the cut will be.

The mediocre: Blade speed is only 5000 RPM, but other 15 Amp saws I have seen are 5400 - 5800. It seems to work though. I don't plan on cutting tile with this, so the 10-15% speed difference probably will not mean much except for possibly, just possibly, more consistent torque.

The "electric brake" (if there actually is one) is unimpressive: It takes about 3 seconds for the blade to stop--I was expecting something like a cordless drill/driver that will stop within 0.5 seconds (but at 150-250 watts for a drill vs. 1500 watts for this, I guess I shouldn't complain too much).
