Giving you the ability to sand, polish, scrape, and cut a wide variety of materials, the Rockwell RK5107K Sonicrafter 73-piece Complete Professional Kit is your all-in-one tool kit for carpentry work. Enhanced by 72 accessories, the variable-speed tool operates with microsonic high-frequency oscillation to produce smooth, safe movements without kickback. Ideal on the job site or around the house, this efficient tool boasts a slim body that makes it ideal for working in confined spaces.

Whether you're a professional woodworker or an avid do-it-yourselfer, the RK5107K is an effective way to streamline your work. Easily carried in its compact, lightweight case, the kit can be kept at your fingertips for all your remodeling, installation, and repair projects.

Starting with the basics, the 73-piece multipurpose kit comes with a variable speed tool and includes three cutting blades, a carbide grit blade, a finger-sanding pad, 30 finger sanding sheets, a triangular sanding pad, 30 triangular sanding sheets, and one polishing pad that helps you cut, remove grout, and sand, with professional-grade results. It also includes a tough, broad-spectrum scraper, a triangular carbide grit rasp, a vacuum adapter with single universal coupling, and a hex key.

Sprucing up the garage? Utilize the scraper attachment to remove paint, old caulking, and rust. Remodeling the bathroom? Remove grout with the kit's carbide grit blade and score ceramic tiling for shaping with the optional diamond grit blade. Exposing hardwood? Remove carpeting using the broad spectrum scraping blade then let the sanding system take over to polish those hard-to-reach spaces.

High-Frequency Oscillation for Smooth, Safe Precision
For the safest and most accurate work, the RK5107K features super high-frequency oscillation technology. This means that instead of rotating, it makes up to 20,000 back-and-forth oscillations per minute for ultra smooth, efficient results. Because there are no fast-spinning parts or alternating blades, there are no threats of kickback.

Thanks to its advanced design, the RK5107K cuts only hard materials when fitted with a blade attachment. This way, the tool easily cuts heavy-duty materials, while keeping the user's hands and fingers safe.

The RK5107K can cut wood, thin metals, fiberglass, masonry, plastic, carpet and flooring, cement board, and even vinyl siding.

High Sanding Capacity with Low Dust Levels
For sanding jobs, this tool requires very little downward pressure and delivers great accuracy. And its slim body enhances your sanding capabilities, allowing you to work on edging and corners that are often not possible to reach with other tools. Plus, it affords you quick and easy clean-up, throwing a very low level of dust whether you're sanding, cutting, or scraping.

Easy Handling with Lightweight Frame and Soft Grip
The RK5107K has magnesium alloy gear housing, making it lightweight enough for extended use and rugged enough for long-term durability. The soft, ergonomic grip offers you optimum comfort and control while you tackle the job at hand.

What's in the Box

Thank you Rockwell....I have been doing carpentry for about 12 years and can not believe I didn't get this tool sooner. I have had this tool for about a month and it has paid for itself ten times over. The Wood/Metal blade I have used for cutting out large areas of Sheetrock to get to leaking pipes without cutting them or wires. I put in two solid oak floor and used it for molding cuts and door jam cuts. I just did a new kitchen install in an old house and it was used for many tight spots where no other tool could get to. I also used it to put in the oven vent inside and then cut the old siding and nails to make the vent cap fit nice without having to replace any old siding boards which usually break when prying with a flat bar and cutting the nails with a big sawzaw. I highly recommend this tool. The price is great and the blades last longer than I thought, once you figure out how to use them for the right job. Just let the tool do the work. If you rush though it will take longer to cut, or if the pipe or nail is not in a fixed position and is loose try to steady it first for best results. O it also cuts though Pvc pipe great. Also thanks to Amazon business Prime account with free two day delivery. for a mere 3.99 I had it the next day.I have saved hundreds on delivery charges over the last year. Just showing some props to Amazon...Get their Prime account for a low price and get FREE two day shipping year round....And buy the Sonicrafter Kit, its well worth it.....

After doing much research and reading a few "tool shootouts", I decided that although the Fein tool definitely appeared to be the best, that the Rockwell was worth a try at less than half the price and with a larger quantity of included blades that fein charges and arm and a leg for. The only reason I'm giving it 4 in lieu of 5 stars is I have nothing to compare it to long term.
Boy, am I happy I made the decision to get this. Cutting holes for electrical boxes and carefully cutting a piece of kitchen tile out from beneath some molding were both a breeze.
Others mention issues with the blades coming loose, but I've not had that problem. I'm a contractor by trade, so maybe it comes down to liking to tighten things well and not rushing through things. This is important as with most tools, you need the patience to let the tool do the work. Tried forcing a cut and the blade got used up pronto. But let it do the work and you get a decent life out of each one. The Rockwell also offers an adaptor to use other maker's blades on this well crafted machine.
I've tried the Dremel, which was lighter and worked fine, (not Fein). But it wouldn't last a week on the job site while the Rockwell is something I'd throw into my truck without a thought and plan to get another one to keep at work.
The tool even feels well made and well crafted when you hold it in your hands. The Dremel is lighter, but I take long life and reliability over weight any day. Time is money and although I have so far had to order new blades on line, as Rockwell blades aren't readily available yet, they can be found here and at other sites to boot, with ease.
the tool also comes with a little plastic box that holds the blades and finger sanding pieces, etc.

I have used the Rockwell SoniCrafter for the last 3 months on a remodel project. It became the goto tool for any problems that came up (need a 3 gang box instead of a 1). This week the variable speed dial became a single speed, only works on high speed.
Were it not for this problem I would have given it 5 stars. Now I will find out how good Rockwell customer service is.

This is on of the handiest tools there is. I use it for everything, I even gave them as Christmas gifts. When I got mine it came in a plastic box which I hate. The newer ones come in a nice bag, that seems to be much roomier, and much easier to put the tool into when you are finished with it.

After reading all the other reviews on this tool, I almost didn't buy one. However, I am glad I took the plunge! The good news: the blades have not shaken loose on me once. I don't know what other reviewers are talking about. I think you just have to tighten the nut enough. I have used this tool many times over the last two weekends whilst rebuilding a porch. I'll admit the nut holding the blade does have a shallow hole for the hex key, and I've felt more than once that I might strip it if I tightened too much. Luckily, nothing like that has happened yet. I used the RW9123.3 Sonicrafter 1-3/8-Inch Precision End Cut Blade to plunge cut into some rotting & termite infested wood sub-flooring from beneath the house. This tool was perfect for plunge cutting away the sub-flooring that was being held up by beams and joists. I marked the blade with masking tape to know how deep I could go with the blade to prevent cutting into the wood floor above. I don't know how else I could have accomplished this same task. The SoniCrafter tool is solidly built and is hefty in my hands. After running awhile it does get a little warm, but isn't uncomfortable to hold. May be too large and heavy for those used to smaller devices such as Dremel tools.

Now the not so good news about the other "Universal" Blades included with this kit. I tried one to see if it would cut thru nails that were holding the sub-flooring to the joists. The SoniCrafter tool is perfect for such a tight squeeze space, but the blades just don't hold up. Other reviews are right on the money about going thru one blade per nail. These "Universal" blades are too soft and dull quickly.

I highly recommend the SoniCrafter tool for use with wood cutting projects.
