I read a lot of reviews on rockwell, Dremmel and Fien... I bought the Rockwell as a more durrable but less expensive solution for my occassional DIY needs. If I were a pro I would consider a Fien. I do not have great expectations for speed with the sonicraft...I have used this form of vibrating technology with other tools... none are very quick. But lets not set the bar to low. The speed is reasonable and it is acceptable if it saves any time in excess of available alternatives. I find the tool usefill for tight jobs or those jobs where considerable deomolition and rebuilding is relatively greater than the actual outcome deserves. Others I know who own ths tool think it does a great job on grout and tile work. This blade is most usefull for some cuts, especially if the straighter blades won't reach the job properly. I have several of each in my tool kit and use what is most appropriate.

I agree with other reviews that the blades are kind of expenseive. I have purchased some non-branded blades and was not surprised when they had difficulty fitting onto the drive nut... stick with Rockwell brand blades if you are an occassional user. These blades are usefull but because of cost I rate the blades a 4

i am still not impressed with the time it takes to cut materials using these blades
it is convenient but time consuming and they break from overheating so it gets expensive
most jobs are "reachable" but again it is more time consuming and therefore frustrating using these blades
not to mention the cost the blades are expensive and don't last very long making the cost of projects higher kinda defeating the purpose of the tool, right?

How else can you remove a damaged section especially when depth of cut is important? This blade easily starts the cut (plunge) & can follow a line, also the depth. I've used it to trim shims & wedges while not cutting the subsurface, also to cut-out sections of dry wall.
To greatly extend blade life the sawblade can be rotated on the Sonicrafter to get a new area of the blade to contact the work surface.

These saw blades are original equipment and this three-pack from Amazon is probably the lowest price you will find. I have shopped retail, online, and Rockwell and all are more expensive. The blade being specifically for a Rockwell Sonicrafter makes it a little more difficult to find but performs just as it is designed to.

Although Blades for the Sonicrafter are a little pricey I still like these for working with wood and vinyl. I used them to cut Vinyl Underpinning and they helped me with the tough cuts I needed to make. I will probably purchase them again.

Last year I bought both of my sons the Dremel Multi Max, we are all do-it-your selfers. This year I had a couple of large projects to do and bought the Rockwell after using one of the Dremels. Don't get me wrong, the Dremel is a fine tool, for DYI, as is the Rockwell. Both have good points and bad points. I have cut carpet and linoleum with the Rockwell SoniShear attachment - did a great job. So far I have not been disappointed with the quality and feel of the tool. The one thing I learned quickly was to let the tool do the work; if you try to force it, it will heat up and the blades will dull quickly. I have used all the attachments that came with the tool and a couple more I purchased (scraper and SoniShear).
Based on the versatility and price, I would recommend this tool for light and medium duty work. Now that I own one of there "multi task" tools, I don't know how I got along without one or for that matter why.
The only complaint I have is the attachment holding system - very cumbersome and easy to drop the allen wrench and/or screw and washer. I like Dremel's system a lot more.

I use these blades on ever project. Handy seems like such a small word for these little might cutters.

I cannot believe we got these for the low price that was offered. They are hard enough to find much less get them this cheap. They are exactly what we originally got with the sonicrafter tool. I highly recommend using Amazon.com to get the best products for the best price.

Great peoduct to owrk in tight places and its extremely safe for newbies or professionals.
Very safe and nice. Easy to handle.
I had made cuts in ceiling, sheetrock, pipes and it did the job in no time and was safe. Its powerful.
